Have just read that another dog has gone over a cliff from the coastpath and died, this one in the Newquay area. Please, please, please keep dogs on a lead on the coastpath. Every owner of a dog that has gone over and died, or if they're lucky, rescued alive, thought their dogs were obedient enough not to be on the lead. If a dog is generally obedient then they're easy on a lead anyway, so why not keep them on it.

Ticks!! Check your dog regularly, especially if you have a longer/shaggy coated dog. This tick was on a dog I groomed in my previous job as a dog groomer, he was slightly overgrown and the tick wasn't too obvious until I was giving him a good check over. Tick twisters are a must to have on hand, they are easy to find - in a large well known pet shop, (i'm sure smaller shops would stock them too) or online. It's important to make sure you get the whole tick out and the twisters make it easy.
