Hugo: “Um… I appear to be stuck in this stream. It was easy to get in but I can’t make it out…..would you be a love and climb down the bank to rescue me please?”
Me: “of course I will Hugo- but at 16 years old you should really think things through before you attempt them!”
Cue: Kila standing in the stream to lift Hugo out safely.
Result: soggy socks and shoes and a grateful Hugo

Dogwalkers nightmare this afternoon- returned to the van after a lovely walk with 6 dogs and there was a cat asleep under the rear of my van (just under the doors that I needed to open to access the crates). Not sure what to do I stood still, with visions of being dragged down the road by 6 cat-chasing dogs racing through my mind. The cat was totally unaware until one of the dogs gave a gentle woof, as if to say “excuse me please - we want to get in the van.” The cat glanced up then wandered away and not one of those gorgeous dogs attempted to chase it or bark chaotically. I felt very relieved but also guilty for doubting that this group could exercise self-control. Well done lunchtime gang. You are all awesome xx
