Meet Crumpet, my beautiful Labrador rescue 🥰🩷

I rescued Crumpet as a puppy, as a veterinary nurse in London. She was diagnosed with neosporosis (Neospora caninum), a parasitic disease that can affect the muscles and nervous system, often causing weakness, mobility issues and permanent muscle changes.

Her journey hasn’t always been easy. Crumpet requires lifelong treatment and ongoing monitoring, but she has faced every challenge with determination and a wagging tail.

Now aged 5, she is thriving and continues to remind me every day why I chose a career in veterinary nursing. Caring for a dog with a chronic condition has given me a deeper understanding of the support, guidance and compassion owners need when navigating long-term health conditions with their animals.

Crumpet is more than just my dog. She is my inspiration, my teacher and the reason Rolling Paws exists today.

A diagnosis doesn’t define an animal. With the right care, support and commitment, they can still live happy, fulfilling lives ⭐

Gentleman Marvin… I’d missed him!

This handsome chap has been busy looking after his nanny recently, but squeezed in a last-minute a**l gland maintenance appointment this weekend. Needs must, eh Marve!

Marvin was as sweet, gentle and cooperative as ever, taking it all in his stride and enjoying plenty of fuss along the way. It’s always lovely to catch up with familiar faces, especially when they’re as charming as Marvin.

Say hi to ‘Meatball’!!!! 🌟

🐾 Last week I had the pleasure of meeting Meatball, a Romanian rescue and his doting parents. For his first UK nail clip and a**l glands expression!!
This little man is a classic ‘failed rescue’. His foster parents fell completely in love and decided he was staying forever. ❤️ I know the feeling all too well! ☺️

He was such a good boy for his at home appointment with Mummy holding him.

The best thing about Meatball is he seems to communicate almost entirely through his ears! 🥰👂🐶

I’m completely in love with this sweet little character already! See you in a few weeks, Meatball! 🐾

We adore Tartan! Scottish Terriers: tiny legs, huge opinions. 💙🤍

Built like little tanks with fabulous beards, Scotties are fiercely loyal, hilariously stubborn, and convinced they run the household (and probably the neighbourhood too). Equal parts dignified gentleman and cheeky troublemaker — one minute they’re posing like royalty, the next they’re digging holes, chasing squirrels, or demanding attention on their terms only.

Small dog body. Big dog confidence. Endless character… and that’s our Tart 💙
