British Academy of Veterinary Homeopathy

British Academy of Veterinary Homeopathy Providers of education in veterinary homeopathy for veterinary professionals. Combined eLearning and onsite courses with personal tutor support`

The British Academy of Veterinary Homeopathy was established in 2013 to provide training in the theory and use of homeopathy by veterinary surgeons and veterinary nurses within the context of veterinary practice. (Please note that the extent to which veterinary nurses can use the therapy is governed by the guidelines of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons in respect of their general areas of competence). The Academy’s course is designed to be completed in a minimum of three years although the time taken can be increased to meet individual circumstances. It follows the Faculty of Homeopathy’s curriculum and aims to take students from a starting position of homeopathy as a new subject through to the ability to include the discipline in everyday practice up to referral level. Teaching is centered around internet based learning augmented by two attendance based weekends per year. Each student is allocated a personal tutor who will be their main contact point throughout the course. All tutors are normally present at each weekend event, which consist of a mixture of formal lectures, tutorials and live cases.

Mission: To provide and promote excellence in homeopathic training for veterinary surgeons and veterinary nurses using the best modern interactive educational methods. To enable and encourage them to integrate the discipline into their clinical practice and to facilitate this within the framework of an evidence based approach.

We have just returned from a very successful and enjoyable London Vet Show 2016 held at the ExCel London. We were joined on the stand by Anthony and Bianca from Natural Instinct who were our main sponsors this year - a massive thank you to both of them and of course the company - the best comment was 'Super bonus! Homeopathy and our favourite raw food company in one hit - awesome!'. We were delighted to meet so many delegates who already integrate homeopathy into their practices but were eager to learn more about it, as well as complete beginners. Our two prize winners at the show were Chantelle Woodward-Iles and Kate Stanton - we hope you both enjoyed the bubbles!

Thank you to all who came and supported us on the BAVH stand at the London Vet Show last week - we had a wonderful show and were overwhelmed by the level of interest. The same enthusiasm was seen for Geoff Johnson's homeopathy presentation at the show with standing room only and people unable to get in the room.

Congratulations to Miriam Krause who was the winner of the single edition Sue Mason print. Our thanks go to Sue who is one of Kew Gardens most accomplished artists for her generous donation.

PayPerView: Homeopathy: Meta-Analyses of Pooled Clinical Data - Karger Publishers

This is a well balanced article looking at the use of met analysis studies to evaluate the usefulness of homeopathy:http://www.karger.com/Article/FullText/355916

In the first decade of the evidence-based era, which began in the mid-1990s, meta-analyses were used to scrutinize homeopathy for evidence of beneficial effects in medical conditions. In this review, meta-analyses including pooled data from placebo-controlled clinical trials of homeopathy and the af...

A Research Database and Information for Homeopathy and its use in Veterinary Medicine

In association with the BAHVS and the IAVH there is now an excellent resource for the evidence base for veterinary homeopathy which should be visited by anyone with an interest in veterinary homeopathy. The professional homeopathic community is dedicated to building this evidence base in exactly the same way as the focus is now on building evidence for current conventional medicine. The emphasis must be on high quality, bias free research with new models that take into account the individualised medicine that is at the heart of good classical homeopathy
