With weather predicted to be over 28c next week, a lot of our walks will be replaced by house sitting instead.

The hot weather can pose a serious threat to all life stages and breeds. It’s important that walks be done very early morning, or late at night; there is also nothing wrong with your dogs missing a walk.

Heat Exhaustion and Heat Stroke symptoms:

❕Excessive panting
❕Thick/sticky drool
❕Bright red or pale gums
❕Lameness
❕Vomiting
❕Diarrhoea
❕Restlessness

It’s important to catch these symptoms quickly and seek out veterinarian guidance - bringing your pet’s temperature down too quickly (e.g. ice cubes) can shock their body.

In December 2025, I was extremely fortunate to be given the platform to discuss my business, Urban Pets, and how I navigate owning and running a business that caters to reactive, aggressive and anxious pets all whilst maintaining mental health issues.

Collin graced me with his time to discuss what it means to be a dog walker and pet sitter with chronic mental health issues. It’s taken a while for me to pluck up the courage to listen to my episode myself, but I feel happy (and proud) to share amongst those who may be interested in listening to it.
