🚨 to anyone who regularly walks their dogs in ripley - stay alert 🚨

To the woman with the large black dog on the farmers’ field in Ripley today:

Your decision to have your dog off lead resulted in it running up to my dog—who was on a lead—and attacking him. In the process, my husband was also badly bitten trying to separate them.

If your dog has no recall and cannot be controlled, it should not be off lead around others. Letting it approach other dogs like that is irresponsible and dangerous.

Had that been a smaller dog—or even a child—I dread to think what the outcome could have been.

Everyone who regularly uses that route knows their dogs and shows the basic courtesy of putting them on a lead when passing others—especially when a dog is already on a lead. It’s a shame that people like you have to ruin that.

What’s even more concerning is that you stood by without taking action or offering any apology.

We have walked our dog there every single day for the past 4 years. You have no idea the impact this incident may have on him going forward.

show some respect for other people and their pets, and keep your dog under proper control.

I hope I never encounter you on that route.
