Recently had a fair few training sessions the past two weeks, yesterday I saw Goose (who’s Simba’s brother — a red fox Labrador) to work on his lead pulling and explore what equipment might suit him better.

Then I saw Nayeli last Friday to help with her impulse control and emotions around bikes and skateboarders.

Also on Friday, I saw Taylor — we’re continuing to work on helping him disengage from other dogs and manage his impulses better, including recall training.

And of course, little Harpo — we’ve been working on helping him do nothing at home around his parents! He’s great at settling and switching off by himself, but not so much when they’re around. So we looked at ways to help him relax and get used to doing nothing when they’re there.

Everyone has worked so hard between sessions, and I’m excited to see how the progress continues! ☺️

So lovely to see Harpo again bright and early this morning to beat the heat!

We’ve stripped things right back to the foundations with him, sometimes going back to basics is exactly what a dog needs to feel more confident and set up for success and with Harpo we’ve made everything super easy for him. We’ve also made sure we can fulfil his needs and take the pressure off him at the right moments. And already, he’s showing such a difference compared to our last session.

Progress can sometimes hide and now show itself when you see your dog day to day, it can creep up slowly being consistent is where the magic happens.

Can’t wait to see how things keep moving forward for him! 🥰

Another sad day as we loose Lucy 💔 I met her in 2018 when she had a lovely 92 year old (at the time) owner. Unfortunately her owner had passed away in 2020 before Covid had hit.

She then landed on her feet with my sister and has been glued to my sister for all this time. Lucy would run miles and miles but she would always come back no matter what. She’d run into one bush and come out of a totally different bush always so happy. As she’s aged shes lost all that young energetic sparkle but still tried her best to be with my sister. My heart is breaking for her and my brother in law.

Lucy was always such a special dog and that’s why I refused to just let her go into a rescue.

You will be missed so much. Please say hi to Betty for me Lucy, enjoy all your walks with Bert too 🩵
