I dont share much from other peoples posts but Jamie Penrith's opening our eyes! Pretty alarming admission from the BBC considering all they have been at the centre of. Its always important to hear both sides of an argument and know all the facts before making an informed decision

A few long winded videos but I'm enjoying showing off Maya's progress. Just look at that eagerness to work 😍😍😍

By no means is this a perfect session but we're not aiming for high level obedience or flashy tricks I just want Maya to know that we can enjoy each other's company and that showing me some engagenent brings about great things. She's a lovely fun dog with lots of energy who is starting to show some real motivation to work with her handler.

Reactive dogs deserve an outlet just as much as any other dog.

Absolutely buzzing for this girl today. Maya is massively reactive to pretty much everything. She even booted off at a statue of a cat on 1 of our first sessions 😅 She's so nervous that she physically shakes when she spots a trigger and as is usually the way with nervy dogs she won't take food or toys outside the house as she's just on high alert all the time. Well a few sessions in we've fixed her association with food and got her working for her kibble (no high value treats here) and a ball in a local park with 4-5 dogs being walked near by.

You can see when she spots the dogs behind us but I manage to get her focus back on me quickly and now I can reward her with a game of tug or with her breakfast and some movement.

Is her reactivity fixed? Absolutely not but now we have options for when she makes a good decision, a managenent system in place for when she does react and she can have some fun outside which should always be the end goal right?
