Introducing another of my pets, Axl🫶🏻
Axl is my first baby, and is the entire reason I began loving work with animals. He is now 10.5yrs old, and you may also notice he only has one eye!👀
Axl has hip dysplasia and arthritis as well as having one of his eyes removed early this year due to an ongoing eye condition that we unfortunately ran out of treatment options for. He has coped with this incredibly well and I’m so proud of him!
Axl is a little grumpy in his old age, so you sadly won’t catch him being too sociable with people he doesn’t know🤦🏼♀️ but as well as this he can be a little jumpy now he can’t see so well on one side. He is a very happy boy with people he knows, so we keep him as stress free as possible by keeping him familiar with the same people where possible. Don’t feel too sorry for him, he still enjoys walks every day, pesters us to play everyday with his favourite toy featured below, ‘Turtz’😂, has hydrotherapy weekly which he loves and still enjoys training sessions to keep his brain ticking!
Axl has a fabulous hydrotherapist, physiotherapist, groomer and the same few vets that he sees so that he is familiar with them and as happy as possible. We are so lucky and grateful to have such wonderful professionals to work with to keep my handsome boy as mobile and comfortable as he can be🥰🫶🏻❤️
