Oh yes

Oh yes

Here’s to all the dog walkers who have had to cancel walks this week.

To the ones living paycheck to paycheck, making the heartbreaking decision to put the welfare of the dogs first — even when rent is due, bills are piling up, and the food shop still needs paying for.

You are my heroes.

I feel incredibly lucky that my main outgoings are my vehicles, because I know for so many others, these weather extremes are hitting hard. And sadly, this is becoming our new normal — wet winters, unbearable spring and summer heat, one extreme after another.

Over the couple of years, so many new dog walkers have started their businesses, stepping into this industry at one of the toughest times imaginable.

The weather hasn’t just affected our income — it’s affected our mental health too. The stress, the uncertainty, the constant worry… it takes its toll.

And on top of all that, the cost of living has risen so dramatically.

Fuel costs, vehicle maintenance, insurance, food prices, rent, mortgages, utilities — everything has gone up, while many of us are earning less because of cancelled walks and unsafe temperatures.

It’s an exhausting balance trying to keep a business afloat while also trying to survive personally. For so many dog walkers, it feels like no matter how hard we work, we’re constantly trying to catch up.

But still, we keep going.

Why?

Because this is more than just a job to us. It’s a lifestyle. It’s a passion. It’s something we pour our whole hearts into every single day.

No matter the weather, no matter the setbacks, we continue showing up because we love these dogs like they’re our own.

So to every dog walker struggling quietly this week — I see you, I respect you, and I hope you’re proud of yourself for putting the dogs first, even when it costs you.

Hello everyone, Loki Poki ( head of media) here!
Yes I know, you thought I’d retired!

But I’m only 4 1/2 so I’ve still many pawsome years ahead of me….. unlike Mum who says she’s on count down!

I know I’ve been slacking with the pupdates but Mum’s been here, there and everywhere, so we’ve not had a moment to discuss anything other than my treat allowance.
And judging by the fact she bathed me again and has made me look like a cloud, I demand double the treats!
I carn’t be seen out like this!
I have a reputation to upkeep.

Mum is still super busy keeping all her dog & cat & Rabbit friends safe and happy. So if you see her, give her a nudge to increase my treat wages!
There’s a cost of living crisis going on you know!

Lots of love Loki Poki head of media and all round puff ball!

What I’ve learned about walking dogs in Gale force winds on a Thursday in March ( a memoir )

* I have the right hair style for a windy day, but a tight hat is better
* Dogs don’t seem to know they have a tail until the wind blows it
*said dogs are terrified of their own tail!
* don’t stand down wind of a male dog cocking its leg in a gale….. enough said
* poo bags in a gale are the most useless thing
* poo bags when trying to be used in a gale with a dog that’s had its tail blown are a hazard!
* poo bags in a gale travel really far really fast
* walking dogs in a gale on black bin day after they have been emptied … just don’t
* branches hurt when they hit you on the head in a gale
* 🌸 blossom is pretty. Gale force blossom in the eye is not

Do I want a desk job. No. Do I want macaroni cheese for my tea. Yes

Will I make it to the end of the day in one piece…. To be confirmed!

LOki Poki (Head of media) here again. Mums left me in charge of the updates again as she said she’s having a rare weekend off.
Don’t know what’s she’s on about, all she does all day is play with dogs, walks dogs, fuss cats and chat to people!!! Carn’t be that hard!

Anyway, yesterday she had her head in a book she said was really good. Then she lounged about watching that programme again called Small Prophets. She said she REALLY likes it and wishes she could find a magical book like that one day.
Not sure I want things growing in jar in the shed!

Today Mum made me dog biscuits! It was a lovely gift she got for Christmas. All of them are for me because I’m a good boy. They are special grain and gluten free so not to hurt my tummy & cheese! My favourite.
Mum said there are enough for lots of treats but I think she’s kidding, I definitely will get through them in a couple of days!

Mum also cleaned her car and she had a machine the washed EVERYTHING!
All the rugs and mats and anything that was still long enough!

I’m not happy because she has washed my favourite mat. It’s the one I like to do my yoga downward dog stretch on and brush my face on in the morning.
Not fair.
Mum needs not to have a weekend off anymore……
Except the biscuits…… that’s okay…. Maybe just half a day then.

Well back to my weekend and I’m looking forward to Mum & Dad having a roast dinner. I like a bit in my bowl just to make sure it’s all okay for them to eat too, I’m a very helpful boy.

Till next time x love Loki Poki & Mum

Morning, Loki Poki ( head of media) here. Happy Monday to you all.

I’ve not been doing my best work lately on the socials, I’ve been a bit busy spending Mums savings and nerves, getting into all sorts of mischief.

Mum said something about cats and nine lives…..
She then said I could have a trim….. trim was the word used….. trim was not what I saw fall in the table!
But once all my curls had come off I did feel very free and a bit like a lamb. So I did lots of leaping and shuffling along the carpet to test out my shiny new coat. I think I like it.

Mum’s in charge this week and I’m going to be on my bestist behaviour.

MUm said spring is in the air and it’s a full moon 🌕 ( she likes all that stuff ), so let’s see!

Have a wonderful week everyone xx

Happy Valentine’s Day to all my beautiful furry friends and their family ###

What a beautiful day to enjoy all things love 🥰
Loki Poki ( Head of media) has loved spending time in the garden and trying out the grass. He obviously was touched by and angel today. As you can see he is sporting a little white feather to prove his angelic nature.

Don’t be fooled one bit. In the next breath he is doing his ‘Kevin & Perry’ moment in a grumpy mood because we have moved the sofa away from the window. Now he can no longer lounge and bark at everyone going by.
Sorry Loki, we do love you but we also don’t require a running commentry of the neighbourhood comings and goings!

Enjoyed the rest of the weekend everyone xx

See you all next week!

Oh wow, well wasn’t that an unpleasant weather week?
Hats off to all those pups that carried on regardless. That I dripped on and grumbled alongside.
I think the only animals who thrived were the pigs who enjoyed even more muddy puddles. Even the ducks on the river looked worried.
But today there was a shiny thing in the sky! Even enough to cast a shadow! Yay
Here’s to some breaks in the clouds, spring bulbs, sun enough for our shadows to accompany us and maybe a few less towels to wash 🤞🤞🤞🐾🐶🐈‍⬛😎
