Today, we got to nurse the most 🌹ADORABLE🌹 little vixen.

Brought in by the volunteers of https://www.facebook.com/groups/557830637411012/ - little Petal here was the absolute star of the day until we unfortunately had to give her back 😭

Have a wonderful and hopefully long life, Petal 🌺

EDIT: I've been notified that Petal is actually Mr. Petal 🫣

🐾 Every Appointment Matters 🐾

At Neighbourhood Vet Gosport, we understand that life can be busy and unexpected things happen.

However, when a booked appointment is missed without appropriate given notice, it doesn't just leave an empty space in our diary. It also encompasses the following:

+ A missed opportunity to ease pain, discomfort, be able to give answers and/or diagnostics.
+ Someone hoping for a cancellation so they can be seen sooner.
+ A family spending another night worrying because the next available appointment is tomorrow.

Most often, this is a missed opportunity to help an animal who can't tell us what's wrong.

Every day, we speak to owners who are frightened, upset, and desperate to get their beloved pets seen. We wish we could fit everyone in immediately, and when appointments go unused, it can be heartbreaking knowing that time could have been given to another animal waiting for care.

So please: If you can't make your appointment or if you notice you are running late, do let us know as soon as possible.

Thank you for helping us care for every pet in our little community. 🐢🐱🐰🐭🐹🦊

Here is the update on banned dog breeds from Defra:
- From 1 July 2026, you no longer need third-party public liability insurance.
- From 1 November 2026, it will become illegal to leave a 12-year-old child or under with a banned dog breed without adult supervision.

Find out what this mean for you: https://pdsa.me/EQD0

[Visual Description: This image is an informative poster from PDSA about upcoming changes in laws regarding banned dog breeds in England, Wales, and Scotland. Key dates included are July 1, 2026, when third-party public liability insurance will no longer be needed, and November 1, 2026, when it becomes illegal for a 12-year-old child or under to be alone with a banned dog breed. πŸŽ‰ LOOK WHO'S BACK πŸ’ƒ

You've spotted her in the midst of the town...
You've heard the rumours of a dark beast wandering in the night...
You've seen the hundreds of posters...

Back by popular demand, it's πŸŽ‰MOLLY πŸŽ‰

Yes. She's finally home after 3ish weeks of adventures and scampering around the entire town.

Her owners are incredibly happy to have her home and astoundingly, Molly barely lost any weight on her walking holiday and has been given a clean bill of health.

We're so glad to see her back home and we must give a very special shout out to https://www.facebook.com/lostdogrecoveryuksouth for their tireless and AMAZING efforts to set and monitor the traps.

β˜€οΈπŸΎ Heatstroke in Pets β€” Know the Signs πŸΎβ˜€οΈ

As the weather gets warmer, heatstroke can become a serious risk for our furry friends β€” especially in dogs, and ESPECIALLY flat-faced breeds.

Signs of heatstroke can include:

🌑️ Excessive panting
🌑️ Drooling
🌑️ Lethargy or weakness
🌑️ Vomiting or diarrhoea
🌑️ Bright red gums
🌑️ Collapse or seizures

If you suspect heatstroke:

βœ… Move your pet to a cool, shaded area
βœ… Offer small amounts of cool water
βœ… Pour cool (not ice-cold) water over their body, especially paws, tummy, and neck
βœ… Use a fan if possible
βœ… Contact your vet immediately

🚫 Never leave pets in cars β€” even for a few minutes. Temperatures can rise dangerously fast.

Prevention is always best:

🐢 Walk dogs early morning or later evening
πŸ’§ Keep fresh water available at all times
🏠 Make sure pets have cool, shaded spaces to rest
πŸ“š Book any grooming or veterinary visits as early or as late in the day as possible

If you’re worried about your pet or need advice, please contact us.
