This is a hard post for me to put up 😞 Unfortunately after much thought and lost sleep I’ve come to the decision I must reduce my business down. I have 2 reasons. 1 is my health, due to my medical conditions I’m struggling to cope with such a physically demanding job. My second reason is that my partner has a business running a restaurant out of the Short Blue pub in Gorleston and I do his accounts, admin and marketing amongst other things and I feel that I’m just spinning too many plates.
I feel terrible to let my customers down and more importantly their doggies. I have cried my eyes out over this decision as I’ve come to love each and every dog so much and I will miss them greatly.
I have decided to keep 2 dogs on as they have been with me since the beginning so when I made the decision to reduce down I decided the fair way was to pick the 2 I’ve had on my books the longest.
I want to thank all of my customers that have supported me so much during my time as a dog walker and I’m so grateful for the experience I’ve had doing this job. It’s been incredible and it’s just reaffirmed that dogs are the best!! ❤️
Also I want to shout out to all the lovely people I’ve met along the way. I will still see you as I’ve kept one dog that I go to Mill Lane field with and the other on the field near the Falklands surgery but you won’t see as much of me. Everyone I’ve met on the fields has been so lovely and I feel I’ve made some great friends 😊 thank you all for your support and kindness it’s means the world 🌎 🐾

Please still take care with your dogs today. I know it’s not as hot as it has been but it is already 22 degrees out there and set to get to highs of 27! 🥵 don’t be fooled by a bit of cloud or a light shower it’s still far too hot to walk your dogs today unless you have already been or you leave it until it’s dark. Here are some helpful tips from the RSPCA of how to care for your dog in the hot weather 😊👍🏻
Couple of tips from me
1. Only give your dog frozen treats when they are well, if you think they have heatstroke please don’t do this as they can go into shock. Call your vet asap
2. If you must take your dog out for toilet breaks for whatever reason do the pavement test. Put the back of your hand on the pavement for 7 seconds and if it burns you it’ll burn them. What I will say is it takes a while for the ground to heat up so up until about 1pm you may find the pavements are ok but by 3pm they will burn 🔥 please always do the hand test before letting your dog walk on the pavement and stay in the shade 😊

Straight to the point and I agree. No walks yesterday and there won’t be any today or tomorrow by the looks of it. Home visits where required ❤️ 🐾

Crikey look at Monday and Tuesday next week 🥵🥵🥵 my phone says 30 degrees for us on the coast and even at 8am it’s already gonna be 23-24!
Please don’t walk your dogs. I will be offering garden visits or cancelling due to the heat as it’s just not safe for the doggies to be out.
If dogs must go for a toilet break and they either don’t have a garden or wont go in it then carry them or take them in the car to a shaded area for a quick wee and then straight home ☀️
Stay cool folks 😎

Please be careful with your doggies today. Ideally you will have already taken them for a walk and if they need another one wait until dark (although it’ll still be pretty warm, 21 degrees at 10pm)
Don’t be fooled by it being cloudy today, it’s the temperature you need to check before taking your furry friend out with you. 23 degrees plus and you are heading towards it being dangerous and it’s meant to be 25 degrees by 11am according to my phone.
Stay cool folks 🐾 😎

Ok we have hot weather warnings for next week which means I need to be extra careful with everyone’s doggies. Any day it says in my car we are over 23 degrees I won’t be taking your dog for a walk as it’s just unsafe. I will do home visits where required or cancel altogether if you’re home. Tuesday looks like the hottest day and currently my weather app predicts highs of 28! 🥵
Please be careful with your dogs next week and remember no dog ever died from missing a walk! 🐾 ❤️

You oughta know that Tuesday this coming week I will wake up and go to London instead of walking dogs and won’t be back until Thursday. All I really want is to see Alanis in concert and although I’m not the doctor she’s got a sore throat so it may not happen. In any case I’ll have a perfect time in London. I may have to put my hand in my pocket and buy show tickets if Alanis has a sore throat. Don’t worry Alanis you’re forgiven!
See you all Thursday 😊😊😊

The only dog I have today and it’s a chill out indoors. We had ever such a quick visit to the bit of grass opposite Freyas house so she would go to the loo and then straight home and she is pooped from the heat bless her 🥵

I placed this thermometer in my garden 20 mins ago. It was 21 in my house and very quickly went up to 28.5 in the garden!! 🥵
It is officially too hot for dogs to be walked today and to be fair probably too hot for people to be walking too 😂
Be careful today folks and make sure you keep your dogs nice and cool inside with plenty of water 👍🏻🐾

WEATHER WARNING ⚠️
So this week it’s really starting to heat up out there and therefore I must be careful with your doggies. If the temperature is over 19 I won’t be taking a ball out for the dogs as it could make them overheat and I will be strolling slowly in the shade with them. If it’s over 23 I will be considering letting them out in the garden rather than a walk unless there is a good amount of shade where we are going. I will also be carrying water and giving them regular drinking breaks along the way.
With your own dogs please be mindful that the hottest time of the day is 3pm - 4:30pm. Walk your dog early morning or late evening if possible, stay in the shade, take water with you and consider things like cooling coats or bandanas.
On Friday especially please don’t walk your dog on the pavement when it’s had time to heat up. Hold the back of your hand on the pavement for 7 seconds and if it burns you then it will burn your dogs paws!
If you have a flat face dog like I do (Frenchie) then DO NOT walk them if it’s too hot. It’s much better to keep them cool at home and offer them an enrichment activity instead 😊🐾
Be careful out there folks ❤️☀️😎
