Buster the recently rescued staffie struggles with basic territorial behaviours, particularly with the neighbours barking dogs on various sides, we set down some exercises to combat this and within 2 hours he was responding to us incredibly well, even with the distractions. Practise makes perfect as they say! It was lovely to see him able to relax in his garden and enjoy time with his new family. Well done Buster 🐾

It's been difficult in this heat for us and our pups lately so I've been busy doing lots of Zoom/Video Call sessions in order to keep everyone cool while continuing to make progress with our training and behaviour modification programmes.

I've been working with a family of Cocker Spaniels; Patch, Pearl, Jasper and Tans, and their owners. Together we have been working on increasing harmony at home and during walks, just to make life a little easier, why not! I am incredibly proud of their progress, all made in a short time frame. I've been loving working with this beautiful family. 🐾

We are now finished for Easter!
Ending on a high with three brilliant sessions today, thanks to all the dogs and owners for bringing their best. You absolutely smashed it and I hope you all have a great Easter break! 🐣🍫🐰

Most of us know they are born with floppy ears which then stand up, but did you know they can stand up and then re-flop during the teething phase?

They are not Dire Wolves, but they have some similar genomes.

You are 98.8% genetically identical to a monkey and yet you are a different species.

Fun fact? The original Dire wolves weren't actually wolves. Similarly to Manned Wolves we see today, who share the name simply due to their appearance, but are also not classified as wolves.

The company that developed the pups refer to them as Dire wolves for ease of reference, the media (and disappointingly, so are some well known international dog training ccompanies) are using this to gain traction, while spreading misinformation.

It was lovely to see the beautiful Sully and Narla recently, we had a fantastic observation session to check out some of their minor reactivity on walks and the potential causes of this. It was interesting to see both dogs felt very differently, and yet the behaviours still looked very similar. After setting the goals, and testing some techniques, I am confident and looking forward to seeing how they get on! Well done Narla and Sully 🐾🐾

I met the handsome Egon the Finnish Lapphund (pictured) and his sweet 'sister' Lissa (GSD mix rescue) yesterday for our first observation session, looking at their on lead behaviours. After a great session, I'm feeling confident about our behaviour plan and have given lots of advice to their lovely owners to utilise in the meantime. Til next time, guys! 🐾🐾

Warning! Terrible joke for April 1st incoming: What did one flea say to the other flea when they came out of the movies? "Should we walk home or take the dog?!"

Don't worry, I was never meant for comedy, thank goodness I'm a dog trainer. While I think about it, if you haven't already, now is the time to consider preventative flea and worming treatments for your dogs! 🪲🐛🐾☀️ Enjoy the weather out there guys!
