Morning yoga with Chief 🐏🧘‍♂️

Chief is enjoying a slow Sunday morning stretch and a spot of yoga in the sunshine. Little does he know he has a very important appointment at the vets on Wednesday to become our teaser ram... which is basically the sheep equivalent of a vasectomy! 😬

Once he's recovered, he'll join the ewes and get to work convincing them that romance is in the air. The idea is to get the flock cycling together so they're all coming into season around the same time, meaning next year's lambing should be much more concentrated instead of being spread over weeks and weeks

Chief gets all the responsibility, none of the rewards. Life can be cruel 🤣

And before anyone asks... yes, we still have one ewe left to lamb 👀 Raspberry has apparently decided she's staying pregnant forever and continues to keep those legs firmly crossed! 🍓🐑⏳

One more little arrival safely landed 💙

We could hear a racket whilst eating our tea tonight... quick check of the cameras and this was our tea time entertainment... even if we are a strict no phones at the table some times it's allowed!

That makes 4 down, 1 left to go… although at this point we’re scared to say “last one” out loud in case the boss appears with another trailer full 🤦‍♀️🐑

Busy day today 🌾🐑

1 more sheep sheared today… only 6 left to go!
1 more ewe lambed a lovely little ewe lamb 🥰 only 2 left now 🥳 Someone confiscate the boss’s phone so we definitely don’t end up with any more surprise lambers before December 👀📱

Sheep moved around our different fields like a fluffy game of musical chairs, the show team came home for an early prep bath and then headed straight back out again sparkling ✨🐑

A quick pit stop at the pub for a nice cold cider and a packet of crisps to keep us running 🍺🥔

Then, naturally, a little more sheep shuffling for good measure because apparently we hadn’t done enough laps already 🚜

We got a few lambs away to market today before their next growth spurt 🌱 Always a bit bittersweet taking lambs. If we had our way the fields would be overflowing with sheep-shaped lawn ornaments! Unfortunately we can’t keep them all.

Really pleased though that our Dutch Spotted ram lamb has found a home to go on as a breeding ram 🐑

We started lambing in December… finally thought we’d finished last week and wouldn’t see another lamb until December again 🐑✨

But apparently the boss decided “rest” is overrated and came home with FIVE in-lamb ewes due to pop any day now 😅

So the lambing kit has been dragged back out, the sleep deprivation is back on the menu, and the shepherds are pretending they’re thrilled about it… 👀

Some of them are looking very smart… others look like they lost a fight with the clippers 😭 But apparently the difference between a good haircut and a bad one is only 3 weeks 👀 However, for Alice and Barbara I feel like it may be a little longer than 3 weeks!

New lambs alert 🚨🐑✨

3am phone call to wake Martin

Two more little additions to Freya’s flock before the sun even thought about rising

And this afternoon our Dutch Spotted ewe, Queenie, decided it was her turn…

More boys!! 💙💙

The tunnels are getting louder, fluffier, and very determined to keep us on our toes. Wouldn’t have it any other way (Maybe a couple more hours of sleep!)
