STAY SAFE EVERYONE ❤️

As is now upon us, please do take extra precautions to keep yourself and your dogs safe.

🐶Check your fences before letting your dog in the garden please still keep your dogs on a leash 🙏

🐶 If your dog is nervous/fearful go into the garden with them to toilet

🐶 Playing music can help mask the sounds of the storm & help your dog relax

🐶 Make sure your dog has a den they can hide in if they want to, ideally in a room where you are if your dog seeks you out for security/reassurance

🐶 Go ahead and reassure or comfort your dogs if that's what they need or seek from you - you will not reinforce their fear - they need your support so be there for them in whatever way they need. (although avoid being overly fussy, anxious, just keep things calm & normal)

🐶 Talk them through anything they're hearing that is unsettling them. When you see them alert to a noise, or the wind rattling - calmly explain to them 'It's ok, it's just the wind, or it's just a bin falling over etc.' Your calm 'matter of fact' explanation can go a long way to helping your dog feel reassured.
