Happy World Animal Welfare Day 💜🐾

I have noticed some time ago how easy it is to get stuck in your little bubble of people who either know and understand animals or those who don’t have anything to do with them and are not too bothered. It’s normal and it’s okay!

You do, however, loose some touch to what the other side is up to.

After running a lecture on dog body language at my office a few months ago, I still get colleagues telling me how they started seeing dogs differently, how they notice the subtle tongue flick from an office dog that is asking for space or an overly excited pup that needs the space to rest and rewind.

And I think that’s beautiful! There’s lots of lectures and other educational events happening this weekend, so I encourage all of you to challenge yourself and be curious.

Maybe that one lecture you attend or an article your read this weekend, even if you don’t own a dog, will change the way you see our four-legged buddies that are around you daily 🐕

We’re now at the stage of getting all Xira’s documents and other life admin done to start the move to Lithuania but until then, expect to see me in bonnie Scotland more ✨

It will always be my second home 🏠 and thank you to those who came to see me, evn if not for long, on a pack walk 🐕

Let’s make it official, shall we 😉

After closing Sky Walkers studio I said I’ll stick to my own dog training and the universe just laughed at my face “hahah let’s see how long you last without teaching”…so I slowly creeped my way back into the dog training world 😅

So happy for finding .akademija and their extremely knowledgeable (and as crazy as me) team to continue my mission of making tomorrow better for dogs one human at a time 🥹🥰

BETA’S UPDATES 🖤 and SWP appreciation post ✨

I feel like the past few weeks went in the speed of lightning. With all that’s been happening with Beta, my business trip, the work that followed and WonderDog’s events I didn’t realise how we approached midsummer 😱

But let’s circle back to the most important update: Beta is back to her normal self!!! We had another visit to the vet today for the final blood tests and it seems like the crisis has been averted for now.

She’s got the probiotics and a green light to be moved back to a ‘normal’ food as long as it’s on the leaner side and no human food at all is coming her way (I fear the conversation with my grandparents during the next visit 🤣).

To be compelled honest, we are all grateful but equally surprised that she bounced back so quickly, I genuinely thought that night we might lose her…

And it makes me emotional to see what a community I built around myself. So many of you shared your similar experiences and advice, sent good health to the oldie and came back to check in on how she’s doing when I had no energy to post🥺

I don’t know how I could return the favour but I want you to know what a special bunch you are 🥹🙏

Sky Walkers Pack is the best thing I built within years in Glasgow and Lithuania - so thank you for that!

You’ve definitely heard this before too ⬇️

When I got interested in everything dogs, I wished nothing more than to be a dog trainer and people would constantly tell me “but you know, it’s not that much work with dogs but the people” or that “dog trainers actually have to enjoy teaching people more than dogs”.

While I might agree with this, I’ve always felt like it’s been told as a downside of the profession.

The truth is, it’s so rewarding to see that “got it” moment in people’s faces that I’d argue it’s one of the most beautiful things in your work.

I’ve recently got a few messages saying “I was watching my/friend’s dog and I recognised one of the stress signs you talked about” or “when we go for a walk, I can just see my pooch interacting with the doggy social media” 😄 and that warms my heart.

So, yeah, I love dogs but I actually also love their humans and to get someone good at training their dog can sometimes be more rewarding that train that dog yourself ❤️✨
