I would highly recommend a visit to Bark at the Barn. The home itself is beautifully done and the acres of land for your dogs to roam are not only brilliant for you and your pets but breathtaking too. Jane and Trevor are fantastic and make sure you have everything you need to make your stay amazing. I would highly recommend this for a break away!

Dogs are truly treated like members of the family being allowed access to all parts of the property.

It has 6 foot high stock fencing securing all 15 acres and is checked weekly between visits. No neighbours anywhere near all land for your own personal use.

“This is an absolute diamond of a rental. Each year they invest money back in to make improvements.
We love it so much we go twice a year as their tag line says to
"Unleash and unwind"
This has been the only holiday accommodation that has given us that opportunity.”

We have decided to change tack – we never set out to upset any business. We believed that property owners would appreciate that a place that allows a dog upstairs would be “more dog friendly” than one that does not but we were wrong.

So,for now, we are here to celebrate and shout about those truly dog friendly places, the ones that allow your dog to be treated as a member of the family, where dogs are welcomed everywhere and gardens are safe and enclosed.

We have received some amazing reviews this week, which will be published this weekend, thank you so much for taking your time to send these over.

Some places say dog friendly when they should read slightly dog tolerant, The Retreat at Greenacres is beyond doubt SUPER DOG FRIENDLY!!!

We have stayed in many different places with our 3 spaniels over the years and The Retreat is not only fantastic for us humans with the hot tub and amazing food it caters for the boys every need! Goody bags on arrival, Cuddles from Beth, fully enclosed dog exercise field, double gated garden with 6’ fencing, comfy bean bag if the sofa or bed occupied 🤣

There is nothing to find fault with if I’m honest and it’s why we keep on going back.

Allowing unlimited dogs (for no charge!) this accommodation is a multidog owner’s dream! The properties are basic but spacious and allow dogs everywhere. Each property has it’s own enclosed space in addition the shared 8 acres of woodland. Although shared we walked there every day and didn’t see another dog or person all week!

The owners are super lovely and posted our dog bowls when we accidentally left them there!

Allowed everywhere.

There are a few animals (chickens/horses) on site but not visible from the properties.

With views to die for, these properties over a taste of luxury, they are immaculately kept and are the owners are so lovely!
Based on or near the family farm, there is always some on hand to help.

Dogs: 3 (may allow more by prior arrange, pop the owners a message they are so lovely!)

Please bring your own throws for the furniture

Some properties have enclosed garden and others enclosed decking (may not be suitable for your escape artists)

Due to being a working farm there is life stock near by and may be viewable from properties, worth checking with the owners if this may cause issues for your dog.

We first stayed in Offa's D**e Lodge several years ago and are book to return to try out one of their newer properties this year!
