🐾 AKLEE PAWS — PRICE UPDATE 🐾

After careful consideration, I’ve made the decision to update my grooming prices.

This is the first price increase since Aklee Paws opened 4 years ago, and I’ve always worked hard to keep my prices as affordable as possible.

With the continued increase in the cost of running the business, including electricity, heating, water, grooming products and other essential costs, I’ve had to review my pricing.

Not all prices have increased. Some have remained exactly the same, while others have had a small increase to bring them more in line with similar professional grooming businesses in the local area.

My aim is to continue providing the high-quality, professional and 1-to-1 service that my customers and their dogs have come to expect from here at Aklee Paws, while ensuring the business remains sustainable for the future.

I’m incredibly grateful for the continued support of all my existing customers, and for everyone who recommends Aklee Paws to friends and family. ❤️

Thank you for continuing to support my small business.

🐾💈 PERCY THE PUG 💈🐾

This handsome little character is Percy! I think he was a little surprised by the amount of hair that came out during his de-shed! 😍🐾

Pugs might be small, but they certainly have BIG personalities! They’re affectionate, playful and love being around their people.

When it comes to grooming, don’t let that short coat fool you! Pugs can shed an incredible amount of hair, particularly when they’re blowing their coat. 🐶💨

Regular brushing at home is important, but professional grooming and de-shedding can make a huge difference. Our professional de-shed treatment helps remove loose hair and undercoat that brushing at home can struggle to reach, leaving the coat cleaner, healthier and looking its best.

A professional groom is also a great opportunity to give the skin, coat, nails and those adorable facial folds some much-needed attention.

Similar short-coated breeds, such as French Bulldogs, English Bulldogs, Boston Terriers, Staffies, Dachshunds and Chihuahuas, can all benefit from a regular professional grooming schedule.

🐾💈 THE SEASONAL DE-SHED 💈🐾

As we head from summer into winter, you may notice a BIG increase in the amount of hair your dog is shedding — especially with double-coated breeds like German Shepherds, Golden Retrievers, Labradors, Huskies, Malamutes, Border Collies, Bernese Mountain Dogs and other similar breeds! 🐕

These breeds have thick, dense undercoats designed to help regulate their body temperature throughout the seasons. As the weather changes, they naturally begin to “blow” their summer coat, shedding that lighter undercoat and growing a thicker winter coat to keep them warm.

This is why you can suddenly find what feels like enough hair to make another dog around your home! 😂

A professional de-shed at this time of year can be incredibly beneficial, helping to:

• Remove large amounts of loose and dead undercoat

• Reduce shedding around the home

• Prevent loose coat from becoming compacted and uncomfortable

• Keep the skin clean and allow better airflow through the coat

• Support a healthy skin and coat

• Help your dog feel more comfortable while transitioning into their winter coat 🍂❄️

A professional de-shed doesn’t mean shaving or removing the healthy outer coat. Instead, we carefully work through the coat to remove the undercoat that your dog is naturally ready to shed, helping them through this seasonal change.

And when they’re really blowing coat, you can be amazed at just how much hair comes out!

If your dog is leaving hair EVERYWHERE at the moment, it may be time for a professional de-shed! 🛁🐕✨

🐾💈KODI💈BELGIAN MALINOIS💈🐾

The Belgian Malinois is an intelligent, athletic and highly driven breed, originally developed for working purposes. They are incredibly loyal to their owners and thrive when they have a job to do, and it’s always a pleasure working with this incredible breed.

They are naturally alert and protective, with very high levels of energy and an eagerness to work. Because of this, they need plenty of both physical exercise and mental stimulation to keep them happy and balanced.

Early and consistent training is particularly important with a Malinois. They are extremely intelligent and learn quickly, but that intelligence and drive needs to be channelled in the right direction. Regular training, structure and clear boundaries can help them become fantastic, well-rounded dogs.

Their short double coat is relatively easy to maintain, but they can shed heavily, particularly during seasonal changes. Regular brushing, bathing and professional deshedding can make a huge difference to their coat and help keep their skin healthy.

We love working with breeds like the Belgian Malinois and helping owners get the very best from their dogs, whether that’s through training, grooming or both. 🐾
