Hart-Jägers Gun dog training

After losing Idris just before Christmas, I’ve taken some time and I’m now ready to look ahead.

In June, von der Kneipes Lennie will be joining me and the family as my next hunting dog.

I’m looking forward to getting started and plan to document as much of the training journey as possible, especially now that I’ve invested in some kit to help capture it all.

Been a while since I’ve posted life has been manic, but I am still managing to fit clients in, do a full time job get out with my own dog and try keep the family happy, it is relentless 😅

Love seeing everyone’s progress and how much they take in from training 🙌 But then my own dog reminds me to stay humble, as his train of thought doesn’t always match mine 😅

I just wanted to let everyone know I’ll be taking a short holiday from 15th–19th September ☀️

Then on 25th September, I’ll be heading off to Germany with Idris to take part in the Hegewald and complete his HZP🇩🇪🐕 — something I’m really looking forward to and in turn putting my training to the test!

I’ll be back on 6th October, and training will be back in full swing from then onwards.

Thank you all for your support — I can’t wait to get back and share the experience with you!

Had a friend over for some training this morning—we started with a bit of hunting work, introduced Winston to some hare scent for the first time, we then moved on to retrieving with some cold game with Winston, who was a natural, showing real promise and drive. We finished off with some drag work with Idris and Wallace Ian’s older dog and again first time his older dog had come across a hare properly, which he retrieved like he’d done it before, so we ended the session on a strong note.
