Wet but lovely day at Aim Higher, Bk9 Hoopers Show. Annie and Style both did me proud. Grace got to play in the ring for the first time.

Super Trail from Casper and Diane Sykes. The trail was laid with the first part being aniseed and the last half vanilla. Casper also had to find the start of the Trail.

Out first Hoopers show since April. Three fantastic runs the fourth not so good but I now know I need to work on layering. Super show with super people.

Today, our Sessions were about components. Components add a level of difficulty and variation to trails.

Today was all about Components in Trail Hunt. Components add difficulty and variation to Trails. All the dogs did a fantastic job. We also did some work on line handling.

I will be running Level 1 grade tests on Sunday 28th September. This will be open to anyone who has taken part in Foundations. The cost will be £35, which includes your booklet and three goes if you do not pass the first time. You will be assessed on how your dog works and how you handle your dog. There are three variations at each level and you choose which one you want to do, but you must pass Level 1 before moving to Level 2. The trail will be 400 metres and on soft ground with three turns. You can lay the trail yourself or I can lay it for you. To book please pm me.

Dates for Foundations +, Components Level 1 and Components Level 3.
10th August,
24th August,
7th September and 21st September.

Each session will be 2 hours long, depending on the number of participants.
Foundations + 10 - 12
Components Level 1, 12.15 - 2.15
Components Level 3, 2.15 - 4.15

It's been a long and tiring day, but so worth it. Khan, Ava, and I took part in our first Trail Hunt International Foundation level trial. Khan blew me away, only dropping 2 points, gaining 48/50, earning a distinction, and icing on the cake was coming 2nd. Ava was a little overwhelmed being in a new place with different people around, but still gained a respectable 38/50 and a merit. :-) They need either two distinctions or a distinction and two merits to move onto the next level, so both are well on their way. :-)
