I've been to Crufts for years but this was my first time to Groomfest Educational day. What a fantastic day its been.

The thing about the grooming world is there are so many brilliant groomers and so many different techniques for grooming there is always something new to learn. Here's just a few photos of some of the amazing dog grooms I watched and learned from.

The handstips of the terriers. As you can see the Jack Russell was falling asleep on the table he was so relaxed.

The Bichon Frise in full show coat.

The Poodles and the different trims.

We had the creative work where only pet safe dye was used and these dogs absolutely love being pampered. I don't think I will ever be that creative but it fascinates me the work put into these grooms.

Then of course they had a groomers shopping area where I stocked up on some bits to try in the spa. Can't wait to try the mud bath on Roxie Roo.

Something a bit different but this weekend was another great day at Goodwoof and two fully tired out pups after spending Saturday up there. My dad trying to get the dogs to both look the same way for a picture was entertaining. Roxie always has to stick out her tongue and Truffles is just like hurry up and give me the treat haha.

The dogs enjoyed some truffle hunting, some gundog retrieving, a splash in the le shuttle doggy pool, trying out a couple of the Barkitcuture beds and grabbed some free lickimats.

Roxie wasn't a fan of being on the floor of the bus and decided to launch herself on to mine and my dad's laps. She's 35kg. She's not a lapdog but the stones smashing against the bottom of the bus was too much for her.

I will upload some pup grooms soon.

Forrest having a dryer break and some play during his grooming session. He's the sweetest and I honestly don't think he tail stopped wagging.

Also yes the grooming loop is over one shoulder under one arm as he was was trying to get to the treats too much and I didn't want him to keep pulling on his neck. Something I do with a lot of my dogs to be more comfortable for them.

Gordon and Erics evidence they are happy to come into the spa after a groom of thier own free will. Such sweet boys. Just not happy leaving mum or dad at the beginning. They are well trained but they are also in thier secure garden so no worries of them disappearing. They are wonderful.

This sweet beautiful boy is Forrest. He had his first full groom with me and needed a good deshed and paws and pads tidy.

For his first time he was a superchamp. He wasn't worried about having a bath, the dryer, his nails being done. He's one sweet boy and loved all the love and affection. He had one minute of mad puppy play on the table when we had a little break during the drying to keep him happy and for it to be a positive experience. I'll share that video in a minute of him having a wonderful time. He was a pleasure to have and look forward to seeing him again soon for his next groom.

Frankie is another one of my golden oldies. She's such a sweet girl. Not a fan of her nails being clipped but other then that she let's me clip her off and make her comfortable. Her before looks like she's just rolled out of bed and technically she has. She likes to nap throughout a groom. She again is not a fan of the dryer and at her age its not worth the stress putting her through a full groom. So we clip and bath and then let her air dry so she can sleep comfortably on the sofa after.

She's always had a bad skin condition and using Peanut and Pickle Coconut and Amber natural canine skincare products helps soothe her skin after.

Teddy is a good boy who isn't worried about anything life throws at him. He's wonderfully calm during his full groom, sleeps throughout the drying process and not bothered about his nails being done.

Hugo is a sweet old man. His mum loves the beard for him. Makes him look sharp and distinguished gentleman. He's such a sweet soul. He had a busy week and so we made the groom as comfortable for him as possible. We groomed him first before the bath as he's not a fan of the dryer to make the process a little easier for him and more comfortable. He's such a good boy he takes everything in his stride and I give him some rest time to lie down and relax in-between clipping.

Winston is a good boy. He's not a fan of the dryer at all so while we work him up to being more comfortable with the dryer we do him slightly differently for a full groom.

He is groomed and clipped first. Face, tail, ears and feet all sorted before the bath and then we give him a good bath to keep his coat clean and healthy.

I've been grooming Winston for a while now and so we have improved using the dryer with him but I won't put him through something that stresses him out so we leave him a bit damp to dry nicely in the house. He really is a sweet boy and with time we will build him up with the dryer.

This is sweet Teddy. I do have a few different teddy's. This boy is such a good boy. He started with a puppy package too which helped build up his confidence with the grooming. He enjoyed a good spa day. Sometimes he can be a little afraid of the dryer but he's fine after a couple minutes and we will keep building up his confidence. He's loves watching out the window and watching people walk by. He enjoys a good treat and some good ear scratches.

This is Izzy who came for her first puppy groom. She was almost 7 months old before her first puppy groom so we still started with a puppy meet and treat 2 weeks before which included getting her used to some of the tools like the scissors, clippers, dryer, nail clippers etc.

Then she was booked in for a bath and dry next but we decided she's not a fan of the heat so we clipped some of the coat off. Not too drastically but to make it easier for her.

Usually you would handstrip a dog with this kind of coat but as she's not a show dog and will get spayed when the time is right dad decided he would rather have her clipped.

Dad had scissored her beard and round the eyes already so we need her beard to grow back in a bit before we can have her looking more like the Airdale terrier she is. She's was such a good girl for the whole spa experience with it being her first time.
