Licki mats😋

My favourite, but simplest tool for distraction!

Why use a licki mat?
🐛 great distraction for wriggly pets, making grooming on your own a bit easier
🙅‍♀️ no or very little restraint is needed when using a mat
⏳ long lasting depending on the food used or if frozen
✅ helps toward creating a positive experience

If your pet is still getting used to grooming or having their nails trimmed, keep sessions short.

You can use loads of different tasty foods to spread over the mats:
• peanut butter (firm fav of my dog Bertie!)
• natural yoghurt
• mashed banana
• liver paste
• wet food
And many more!

Had the pleasure of meeting the lovely Leo this afternoon for a nail clip💅

He’s not the biggest fan of having his nails cut, but with a little patience (and lots of bribery!) we got all the nails that needed clipped, clipped🥰

I always try to find ways to make them a little more tolerable, including with my own dog! Bertie isn’t a huge fan of having his toes touched, but with a peanut butter licki mat, he couldn’t care💅

If your pet is very nervous around their feet, I can work with them to hopefully make things more comfortable🤎

I also offer multiple pet discounts so everyone can get their mani-pedis done✨

Please see my available services below!

All service prices include a visit fee, postcodes outside of FK1 however may have an additional travel fee, so please get in touch. I accept bank transfer and PayPal, I will accept cash however I do not carry change so please ensure exact change is available. Each visit will be at least 30 minutes, or longer if booking multiple pets😊

Appointments will normally be during weekends, but I will try my best to accommodate.

As a registered veterinary nurse (RVN) I can only provide non-clinical pet care, as per the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Code of Professional Conduct. I am therefore unable to diagnose and treat your pet. I cannot amend, dispense or issue repeat medication prescriptions.

For any medical questions, concerns or emergencies, please contact your regular veterinary practice.

Hello!👋 I am in the process of putting together a list of services and calculating prices🤓 But I thought I should take the opportunity to introduce myself!

My name is Sophia. I qualified as a registered veterinary nurse from SRUC Barony in 2023, and currently work full time in a small animal practice. I trained and worked on the Orkney Islands in a mixed practice, where I gained important skills and knowledge. In practice, I enjoy all things surgical! I love to monitor anaesthetics and hope to complete a schedule 3 course, which means I can perform minor surgeries🪡

Although I haven’t been an RVN for long, I grew up with a variety of pets ranging from hamsters and guinea pigs, to chickens, dogs, cats and horses! So, I have plenty of experience handling and caring for a range of animals.

I currently have a Border Terrier named Bertie, who is 3yrs old. He’s an absolute whirlwind and loves life! He will likely feature in most of my posts🐶 I also have a horse named Dixie, she is 22! We’ve been a duo for 8yrs now, and although she’s an older lady now, she still enjoys going out and about🤎

I’ve decided to offer mobile veterinary nurse services, as I know that going to a veterinary practice can be stressful for both pet and pet parent. As a Fear Free certified individual, I’m hoping through offering these services, that pets can receive care as stress free as possible.

I’d love to see your beautiful pets, who I will hopefully have the pleasure of visiting soon!🐾
