Hi guys, today we have an appeal, and I hope some of you are able to help.
As many of you will have already seen and heard, the Cat Welfare Group, a registered charity based on the South coast, has been dealing with a number of Devon Rex who have been abandoned to fend for themselves in the countryside near Portsmouth. The owner simply didn’t want them anymore, so they threw them out, like they were unwanted rubbish. The Cat Welfare Group has vowed to ensure they all get the love and care they deserve.
All of these cats need to be neutered.
One of the females is pregnant and being treated for a nasty eye ulcer.
One of the males needs a referral to an eye specialist, as there appears to be an issue with his vision, plus he has a slight head shake and possible nystagmus.
For any rescue to take on as many cats as they have is a major task. They were lucky that they were helped by another rescue, who took some of their cats to make space for this sudden influx.
The costs are going to be astronomical. For an easy case, they estimate it costs around £250 to get the cats spayed and vaccinated. These are not easy cases, and are going to cost more.
The Rex Cat Club committee have agreed to make a donation of £500 to the Cat Welfare Group to help towards their costs. It won’t even nearly cover their outlay, but it will at least help soften the blow. If any of you would like to donate, please do so either through this link:

You can visit their website for more ways to help, such as ordering something from their Amazon Wishlist. They have everything from microwaveable teddies (for orphaned kittens) to cat food and litter trays.
I’m sure they would be very grateful for your help, but not as grateful as the Devons they saved this week.
