Here’s “professional mud collectors” Millie and Loki modelling their new 3 Peaks waterproof suits from Pets at Home.

Owner Rebecca describes thirteen-year-old Millie and four-year-old Loki as professional mud collectors thanks to their love of mud on walks. Now we’re in mud season, she wanted something to help make the post-walk clean-up a little easier.

Rebecca, who shops at Pets at Home Sheffield, said, “The goal was to find something that covered as much of Millie and Loki as possible. They have a habit of lying down on the ground during our walks, and I didn’t like the thought of them getting a wet belly. The coats have just arrived so we’re very excited to try them out – though less excited about the rain!”

Meet Mop, one of the incredible search and rescue dog from Search and Rescue Dog Association (Isle of Man), who are proudly sponsored by Vets for Pets Isle of Man.

Mop is one of two qualified search and rescue dogs at SARDA IOM, with another currently in training. These canine heroes, alongside their dedicated human handlers, volunteer across the Isle of Man to assist in emergencies; from missing person searches to car crashes and more. To support their vital work, Vets for Pets Isle of Man provides essential veterinary care.

Jim, chairman and navigator at SARDA IOM, said: “We want to extend a sincere thank you to Vets for Pets for their continued support of our search and rescue dogs. Their care, expertise, and commitment help us ensure that our canine heroes remain healthy, happy, and ready for action at all times. Our dogs are not just team members—they are our greatest asset. Their keen sense, dedication, and unwavering loyalty play a vital role in the success of every mission.”

Brownie was so relaxed during her treatment at Vets for Pets Sevenoaks that she gifted the team an egg as a thank you.

She was brought in by her owners, Courtney and Althia, after they noticed she was limping. It turned out to be a case of bumblefoot; an infection caused by hard ground, uneven perches, or small cuts that let bacteria in. The team were able to rapidly assess Brownie and start appropriate treatment.

Courtney said: “It’s the first time we've used Vets for Pets, and it was a brilliant service. We've now signed up all our chickens. I was so amazed at how relaxed she must have been; she laid them an egg! Brownie’s now happy back at home with her friends Caramel, Toffee and Snowball.”

Nineteen-year-old Baz is living his best life as a pampered pooch in his golden years.

Baz was adopted by Ellie six years ago, and as his mobility has declined, she’s gone the extra mile to make sure he still enjoys a great quality of life, which she says Baz has become accustomed to.

Ellie, who is a member of Pets Club, said: “Baz goes for hydrotherapy to help with his joints, and we give him supplements like YuMove and collagen. He also has a doggy cart so he can enjoy long walks when he’s struggling. He usually gets a lot of attention when he’s out and about in it, which he absolutely laps up. He hasn’t changed much over the years, his cheeky, playful personality is still very much there.”

Melanie recently had an emotional visit to Vets4Pets Hedge End, where she was reunited with her cat Bella, who had been missing for four years.

Bella was eight years old when she began having seizures, leaving her disoriented and confused. Despite working closely with her vet to manage her condition, one day Bella didn’t return home. Melanie searched high and low but eventually gave up hope. Then, four years and one week later, she received a call from the practice. Bella had been handed in by a kind couple who found her, and thanks to her microchip, the team were able to contact Melanie straight away.

Melanie said: “I burst into tears. The lady on the phone was crying too. It’s one of those stories you never think will happen to you. I’m so grateful to the couple and to Vets for Pets for looking after her. As soon as Bella heard my voice, she came straight out of her basket, she remembered me! If your cat isn’t chipped, get it done. You’ve got a much better chance of being reunited if they’re found.”
