I welcomed the adorable Albie for his very first groom! At 4 months old this was a pretty big deal!
The salon can be a sensory overload: new smells, unfamiliar sounds, a bath for the first time, and meeting someone new. That’s why I take a calm, puppy-led approach with no expectations — just positive experiences.
Albie wasn’t too sure about the hairdryer today — he decided the safest place was with his head buried in the towel (or tucked under my arm!), which definitely helped him feel a bit braver. He also wasn’t keen on me clearing around his eyes, so I didn’t push it. We’ll try again next time when he’s feeling more confident.
Forcing it would only have stressed him out and left him thinking that coming to see me leads to stressful situations, and that’s the last thing I want! Building trust comes first.
Well done for being a brave boy and thank you Albie! 🐾🥰
