Some days in this job are all about the little wins.

This horse gave us a moment we've been working towards for a while. Nothing huge, probably wouldn't look like much to anyone else, but that's the thing with horses – the small steps often mean the most.

People often ask what saddle I ride in, so I thought I'd answer one of the most common questions we get.

I've been riding in a Voltaire Lexington for years and honestly it's one of those pieces of kit that I now wouldn't want to be without.

For me, the biggest thing is how connected I feel to the horse. Whether we're schooling on the flat, jumping a course or working with a younger horse, I feel like I can really feel what's going on underneath me.

As riders, we spend so much time trying to build a partnership with our horses, and having a saddle that allows you to move with them rather than against them makes a huge difference.

Most importantly, it's not just comfortable for me, it's comfortable for the horses too, which is always the priority.

A huge thank you to Rachel Littlewood for allowing Dylan to ride the amazing Crusie in the Ride & Run at the Forces Equine Games, held at Pickering Grange Equestrian.

What an incredible horse he is! Dylan was so lucky to have had the opportunity to jump him in this charity class. We are extremely grateful for the trust and support, and it was a fantastic experience for both horse and rider.

Not every jump session has to be about jumping bigger.

Some of our best training sessions are actually spent going back to basics.

Pole work, rhythm, balance and getting the horse thinking for themselves.

The funny thing is, when you spend time getting the simple things right, everything else seems to fall into place afterwards.

Today's session was all about keeping things relaxed and letting this horse build confidence one step at a time.

We've been making good use of our PolyJumps setup recently and it's been brilliant for mixing things up and keeping the horses interested.
