This rescue was set up to help the plight of pound dogs, these are dogs that are on 'death row' in UK pounds. This includes dogs that have been abandoned, surrendered or left to stray. Some have only 7 days to be reclaimed by their owners. If they are not, they are put to sleep. The enormous number of dogs, mainly staffies

on 'put to sleep lists' lead us to want to help these unfortunate family pets. Few people realise that many healthy dogs, through no fault of their own, are being destroyed if not claimed within the week. The name poundies
Poundies are dogs that are abused, dumped, abandoned; unwanted souls that find themselves with 7 days to live in, generally, appalling conditions. Named ‘poundies’ as these conditions are council pounds across the UK that are ‘home’ to these dogs awaiting their death. Many people are under the impression that a dog must be "bad" in some way to end up being dumped and in a council pound; have a look at the photos and updates of some of our available pound dogs in their foster homes and of our own dogs most of the volunteers that help this rescue have pound dogs living in their homes - proof that this is not always the case.

It's one week till Staffie Smiles Rescue will be attending the dog event of the year 🐾🐾🐾

Perthshire's go-to dog event is back for 2025! It is the perfect chance to treat your four-legged friend to a great day out! Paws at the Palace will feature doggy fun and games, parades of different breeds, agility classes and some paw-some demonstrations.

We have lots going on at our stall and we would love to see you there.

Hi everyone it's me king im feeling a bit proud of myself. here's another video of me at my training. I got told that im making alot more good decisions on my own. I know I still have work to do but trust me im working hard so that I can get my own family home. I honestly think if I could get that home and they can continue to help me then they will have a boy who will be so grateful,happy and share my big slobbery kisses and snuggles. Gorgeous Jaz is still waiting on her loving forever family home. She is in foster home just now and is loving life and working hard on her manners. She has come so far from 1st coming to ssr and her foster home. Jaz needs a home that will continue to help jaz become the dogs we know she is.
