The increase in rain during autumn can cause an influx of wild mushrooms, as they thrive in damp climates. You may come across them on walks, or they may appear in your garden. It can be very difficult to determine whether a particular mushroom is safe to eat, as many can look very similar but have very different toxicity levels. 🍄🍄

If you suspect your pet has ingested wild mushrooms, speak to a vet as soon as possible. Also, try and either take a sample or get a photo of the type of mushroom you think your pet may have ingested, as it may help the vet to identify the type of toxin and effectively treat it. 🏥🏥

Meet Cleo! 🐈

This beautiful wee lass was in to see head nurse Ciara a couple of weeks ago for her Healthy Pet Club 6 monthly nurse check 👩‍⚕️

She is so gorgeous, with the most unique markings! 😻

Wee Cleo is only just over a year old, and is a very happy, healthy, active girl. She has recently started bringing presents home, lovely wee mice! 🐭

It was so lovely to see her and her owners again, and we look forward to seeing them again soon! 💗

Younger dogs may be at risk due to:

Happy Friday everyone!!

Our story this week is of the stunning Jetson! 😺

Jetson came to us last month after a suspected Road Traffic Accident. He was found at home, missing his collar and with grit all down one side of him. He didn't want to eat his breakfast which was also very out of character.

His owners did absolutely the right thing, and brought him straight to us to check him over.

He was given a thorough clinical exam, and seems a wee bit sore on one of his shoulders as he was vocalising when it was manipulated. 😿

The plan was to give him an ultrasound scan, to check for any internal injuries, and to xray him to check his shoulder. Luckily for Jetson, there were no internal injuries and no fractures. He had some soft tissue swelling on that sore shoulder. 🤕

To recover, Jetson had some pain relief and was kept inside for a week. After a recheck appointment 7 days later, Jetson was cleared to go about his happy self, and get back outside! 🥳

We do love a happy ending!! 😁

This handsomest boy in Mav, a 4 month old German Shepard pup that we are lucky enough to have registered with us. 🐶

He has been coming in for his monthly weight checks and every single time he melts our hearts! 💗
