Hi everyone I’ve just had 12 week old Ernie in my salon this morning for stage 1 of my puppy grooming and socialisation plan. Ernie’s owners stayed with him this morning while he had a good sniff and lots of treats. I’ll look forward to seeing him again very soon 💙🥰😘

🐶 Puppy Grooming & Socialisation

Stage 1: Get Used to It (8–12 weeks)

Goal: Puppy feels safe
• Touch paws, ears, tail daily
• Show brushes/tools
• Keep sessions very short
• Give treats and praise

Stage 2: Try It Out (12–20 weeks)

Goal: Puppy learns grooming is okay
• Start brushing gently
• Turn on clippers/dryer nearby
• Try nail clipping (slowly)
• Visit groomer for a quick intro

Stage 3: Full Grooming (5–6 months+)

Goal: Puppy stays calm during grooming
• Bath, dry, brush, trim
• Regular grooming routine
