✨ Exciting News! ✨

Alfie, Buddy, Crumb and I are thrilled to share that we’ve joined the Scentventure Affiliation Program.

This is the first step on our journey towards becoming a fully Accredited Scentventure Guide. Along the way, we’ll be following Scentventure’s four compass points, which shape everything they do:

🔹 Environment
🔹 Exploration
🔹 Scentwork
🔹 Partnership

By working within this ethos, we now have the tools and resources to not only build upon our existing enrichment programme and sensory experiences, but also to bring you exciting new activities and scent games designed to nurture confidence, resilience, and the joy of learning through play.

This is an exciting new chapter for me and the Collies – and we’d love for you to join us on the journey!

Keep an eye out as we start weaving Scentventure into our services and share the adventures along the way.

🌟 Here’s to sniffing out new possibilities together!

🌧⛈️️ Indoor Activities to Enjoy with your Dog when the weather is bad ️🌧⛈️

With a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms, it’s the perfect time to engage your dog in some fun indoor activities! Here are a few ideas to keep your furry friend entertained and mentally stimulated:

1. **Dog Parkour**: Transform your living room into an obstacle course! Use furniture, pillows, and other safe equipment to create obstacles. Teach your dog various Parkour behaviours such as In, Under, Through to name a few.....

2. **Learning New Tricks**:
Adverse weather conditions can be a great opportunity, to teach your dog some new tricks. Whether it’s rolling over, sitting pretty, or even putting their toys away, training can be a fun and rewarding experience for both of you.

3. **Scent Work**: Tap into your dog’s natural instincts with some scent work. Hide treats around the house and encourage your dog to sniff them out. You can increase the difficulty by using boxes or containers to hide the treats and make it a fun search game. For my Collies, I have trained them to identify Kong and the can search my living room...

4. **Interactive Toys and Puzzles**:
Invest in some interactive toys or puzzles that challenge your dog’s problem-solving skills. These can keep them engaged for hours and provide mental stimulation, especially on days when outdoor play is limited.

5. **Relaxation and Cuddle Time**: Sometimes, the best activity is simply spending quality time together. Create a cozy spot with blankets and cuddle up with your dog while enjoying a movie or some quiet time.

Remember, thunderstorms can be stressful for some dogs. Create a safe and comforting environment for them, provide calming music and support them! 🐶✨

⭐️Always use plenty of positive reinforcement throughout your training sessions!!

It can be tempting in our training to skip the little steps.

It’s great to have faith in our dogs but if we stick to small steps, it’s so much clearer to them what we want.

The result is getting to the end goal faster with a much more solid behaviour.
