When I first started Mac’s Munchies, I thought I was just setting up a little market stall selling dog treats to earn some extra income. I never imagined what it would grow into only a few years down the line.
It’s like having a second family.. the market traders who cheer each other on in the rain the wind and everything else we battle, the market staff who work so hard behind the scenes, and all of you… my customers. Although calling you “customers” doesn’t even feel right anymore because so many of you have become friends.
Some weekends I come home smiling because of the conversations we’ve had, the dogs I’ve cuddled, or because someone’s popped by just to say hello and ask if I want a coffee 🥹. That’s something money could never buy.
People often ask me if it’s hard work… and honestly, yes of course it is, 18+ hour days baking alarms going off at 4am. But when you’ve found something you genuinely love, it doesn’t feel like just work anymore. I really do think I’ve found what I was meant to do and not many people get to say that in this day and age!
Every single pound you spend with me does so much more than buy a bag of treats. It keeps this little dream alive. It pays for the next market, the next product line, the next crazy idea… and slowly, it gets me one step closer to hopefully opening a little Mac’s Munchies shop one day… could you imagine 🙈.
Until then, you’ll find us at the market every weekend pupcups in hand and a smile on my face unless it’s windy then I’ll be looking pretty nervous 🤣
