The recent heatwave has certainly kept us busy at Longslade Farm & Equestrian! βοΈπΎ
Weβre pleased to say our conventional hay harvest is well under way and will soon be available for sale in packs of 14 bales.
Before any hay leaves the farm, weβll be carrying out hay analysis. Testing is important because it tells us the nutritional value of the hay, including its energy, protein, fibre and sugar levels. This helps ensure youβre feeding the right forage for your horseβs individual needs.
Although it can be tempting to use freshly baled hay straight away, itβs best to leave it for at least 6β8 weeks before feeding. Newly baled hay continues to cure in store. Feeding hay too soon can increase the risk of digestive upset if it hasnβt fully cured. Therefore we have our customers covered as we still have some of 2025 hay still available.
Weβll keep everyone updated once the test results are back and the hay is ready to go.
If youβre interested in reserving packs of our hay, please get in touch. πΎπ΄
