A huge thank you to Reuben’s mum for the lovely card and gift to enjoy during my time off next week (Thursday & Friday— for those who may have forgot! )The kindness and support from my customers honestly means so much to me. I feel very lucky to have such wonderful clients and pups as part of Evie’s Merry Mutts 💛

Thank you to all my lovely customers for being understanding & flexible with walk changes during the hot weather ☀️🐾

I really appreciate the patience with earlier pick ups, shorter walks and schedule changes whilst ensuring dogs are kept safe and comfortable in the heat.

Here’s some pics I managed to take over the past couple of weeks when temperatures allowed… ♥️

‼️TOMORROW ‼️ it is set to be hot early on, therefore walks are cancelled and drop ins will be offered as a alternative. Can owners ensure dogs have access to fresh water & shaded areas please 🙏 thank you

Dogs can sometimes find it difficult to cope with hot weather as they struggle to regulate their temperature which means they are more at risk of heatstroke than we are.
Heatstroke can be very serious! As a dog’s internal temperature rises it can cause damage to their organs and could lead to organ failure. According to AnimalTrust, 1 in 7 dogs that are taken to the vets with heatstroke are fatal.
During warm summer days it’s easy for your house to warm up. Some dogs may be able to cope with this rise in temperature, while others may struggle.
On hot days remember to:
• Ensure your dog always has access to drinking water
• Add ice cubes to your dog’s water bowls
• Use freezable dog toys and let them chew on it
• Put down damp towels for your dog to lie on (Never over the dog)
• If your dog has a long or heavy coat you could keep them well groomed to make them feel more comfortable
• Keep dogs out of hot conservatories
• Avoid housing your dog in direct sunlight
• Keeping your curtains and blinds closed during the day to prevent your home from warming up when it’s hottest, and then open your windows at night to help cool down your house.
If you think your dog may have heatstroke it’s vital that you immediately contact your vet while also trying to cool them down. Getting early advice and treatment is essential to saving a dog’s life.
Research found that in the UK, although 1 in 7 dogs that are taken to vets with heatstroke die, 98% that are seen early with mild signs are likely to survive.
Remember: Get them WET then get them to the VET

☀️‼️ HOT WEATHER customer notice ‼️☀️

With the hot weather forecast predicted Friday onwards, precautions will be put in place to ensure all dogs are kept safe and comfortable. ☀️🐾

As in previous years, pick-ups will start earlier and walks will be completed before temperatures rise. Home alone dogs will be prioritised, with any remaining spaces offered to non-home-alone dogs on a first come, first served basis.

If your dog requires a later drop-in during the day, please let me know in advance.

Temperatures and conditions will be monitored throughout the day and walks adapted where necessary. Some walks may be shortened, adjusted, or replaced with enrichment sessions/drop-ins if temperatures are considered unsafe.

Dogs that are not home alone may still be walked where temperatures safely allow.

I’ll message customers individually regarding any changes to your dog’s usual routine. Please also ensure your dogs have access to fresh water and cool areas during the warmer weather.

Thanks everyone ☀️
