🐶MYTH - Dogs shouldn’t eat carbs!🐾

The myth that dogs shouldn't eat carbs comes from the belief that they should only be eating proteins and fat. However, a dog's diet that includes at least 20% of carbs, provides energy in the form of glucose.

When carbs are not part of that diet, their bodies take that glucose from the proteins which can cause health conditions. Carbs help your dog's body generate heat and form the basis for other nutrients!

Bonfire Night is here! 🎇

As exciting it is for humans with all the Fireworks, dogs can get scared which is why we have a few tips.

🐾Keep pets indoors to keep them safe, as well as closing all the windows to drown out all the loud noises

🐾Feed your dog early with their favourite Pero food and make sure you have their favourite Pero treats to hand as these can be a good distraction when the fireworks begin!

🐾Create a safe space with their favourite toys or even mask the sound out with the radio.

🐾If your dog needs to be walked then try to do this early before the events begin and always make sure their collars and tags are on them.

Over the years, our dog food has been recognised as being one of the best available dog foods for excellence and quality. Before 1985, our founder, Dewi faced challenges with his own dogs reluctancy to enjoy a balanced and nutritional meal, which was why he created Pero.

Here’s one of our first adverts, after launching our first range back in 1986! Pero Gold, as shown in the advert is the first version of our massively popular Fussy Eater recipe. That recipe has stood the test of time and is still being enjoyed by many dogs up and down the country, nearly 40 years later! 🐶
