🌱 A Green Milestone for WSSCC!

Wolverhampton & South Staffordshire Car Club is proud to announce that we are now officially accredited under Motorsport UK’s Club Sustainability Accreditation, a meaningful step forward in our commitment to greener grassroots motorsport.

Founded in 1951, Wolverhampton and South Staffordshire Car Club - WSSCC has been a cornerstone of the West Midlands’ motorsport scene, bringing enthusiasts together across a wide range of disciplines; from navigational and stage rallies (including our standout Rally North Wales) to autotests, trials, and leisurely classic tours. We’ve always prided ourselves on fostering a spirited, inclusive community stretching from first-time novices to seasoned international competitors. 

This sustainability accreditation recognises our efforts to reduce environmental impact, not just for our flagship rally events, but across everything from production car trials to social gatherings. It reflects our ambition to embrace responsible motorsport while nurturing the passion that drives it forward.

We’re grateful to Motorsport UK for their guidance and support throughout this journey, and thank you to our members, volunteers, and supporters for helping us reach this sustainability milestone.

🏁 Get Jerky Rally North Wales returns to Welshpool in March 2026!
The Get Jerky Rally North Wales, cancelled earlier this year due Welsh forestry damage caused by Storm Darragh, is set to return on Saturday, March 28 next year, giving a major boost to businesses in Welshpool and across the region.

Get Jerky Rally North Wales cancelled in 2025

The Trailhead Get Jerky Rally North Wales, originally set for 29 March, has been cancelled due to access restrictions in the Welsh forests.

Wolverhampton and South Staffordshire Car Club, the event organisers, received confirmation from Motorsport UK and Natural Resources Wales (NRW) that significant storm damage caused by Storm Darragh in December has left many rally stages inaccessible. Consequently, forest stage rallies in the region are no longer permitted at this time.

📰 Trailhead Get Jerky Rally North Wales joins the BTRDA Rally in 2025

In advance of the release of the full 2025 Protyre BTRDA Rally Series calendar, the BTRDA is pleased to announce that Rally North Wales will form part of the most popular forest Rally Championship in the UK.

Based in Welshpool, the Wolverhampton & South Staffs Car Club-organised event is scheduled to take place on 29th March 2025.

‘It’s fabulous to be recognised by the BTRDA Rally Series and be invited to be one of the rounds,’ says Guy Weaver, W&SSCC Chairman.

‘What this will mean to the event is that it will provide a far better financial footing in terms of covering all the increasing costs that are incurred putting an event on these days. The BTRDA has a massive heritage in UK rallying and along with Rally North Wales we look to forge a great partnership together, that will give competitors access to some of the finest stages Wales has to offer and allow spectators and fans to catch the cars that the BTRDA will bringing to the event.’

📰 Hirst hauls in fourth Trailhead Get Jerky Rally North Wales win ✌️✌️

Matthew Hirst Rallying and Declan Dear stormed to a fourth consecutive, Get Jerky Rally North Wales win on Saturday [16th March], with a breathtaking performance that saw them win each one of the event’s eight stages.

Whilst in the national, Nick Elliot and Dave Price finally stood on the top step of the podium taking their FIAT 131 Abarth to a long-awaited victory, their first since 2021.
