New year. Better cat food.
Cats are obligate carnivores.
They are designed to eat meat — it’s not a preference, it’s biology.
Most supermarket cat foods contain around 4% meat, with the rest made up of fillers and sugars that cats don’t need and can’t process properly. Then people are told their cat is “fussy”, while dealing with awful litter tray smells, sloppy poos, and half-eaten bowls.

Stock & delivery update 🐾

We want to be upfront — we’re dealing with significant supplier delays this week. Around 70% of our raw food order hasn’t arrived despite being due earlier in the week. Because it’s also been extremely busy, the raw food we have received has sold very quickly and stock is now very low.

Here’s what is confirmed:

• Dougies – arriving Friday
• DAF – arriving Monday

Everything else is currently unknown. All we’re being told by suppliers is that they’re “experiencing delays dispatching”, with no confirmed dates yet. What we do know is that the remaining stock will arrive before Christmas.

Important to note: we are still delivering between Christmas and New Year, so this isn’t a major panic situation — there will still be opportunities to get food.

That said, if this delay means you’ll miss what would normally be your last delivery before Christmas, please contact us. We will absolutely make special deliveries outside of our usual schedule where needed to make sure no pets go without food.

We’ve been making a lot of eco-friendly changes across Jingo Pets and Shanzi Naturals and none of it is putting prices up.

First update — our carrier bags are now 100% biodegradable.

For local deliveries, we’ll continue doing what many of you already know we do: reuse packaging wherever possible. That’s why some raw orders turn up in random boxes — they’re the boxes our own deliveries arrive in. It makes more sense to reuse them than bin them.

Across the brands, we’ve also made these changes:
• All Shanzi powders moved from plastic pots to pouches
• All tinctures switched to glass
• Shampoo, conditioner and grooming spray stay in plastic for safety (nobody wants smashed glass in the bath)
• 100ml pots will move to glass once the current batch is gone

For postal orders:
• Our void fill is fully biodegradable and dissolves in water
• We’re still working through a massive batch of plastic tape, but once it’s gone, we’ll be switching to paper tape
• All shipping labels are thermal printed — no ink, no cartridges

Shanzi labelling:
• Some labels are now printed in-house on our thermal printer
• More complex labels still need outsourcing, but we’re cutting down where we can

We’ll keep looking at plastic alternatives for other products. Going fully eco-friendly won’t happen overnight, but we’re moving towards it steadily and without increasing prices.
