Senior Sniffers 🐶
Just because our dogs are getting older doesn’t mean they stop needing opportunities to learn, think and enjoy themselves.
In fact, keeping senior dogs mentally active can be hugely beneficial. Cognitive enrichment helps keep their brains engaged, builds confidence, gives them purpose and can be a wonderful way to support their wellbeing as they age.
That’s exactly why we’ve created Senior Sniffers.
A scentwork-based class designed specifically for our older dogs, with their comfort and mobility in mind. Sessions are held on soft grass surfaces, avoiding hard or slippery flooring, and searches are tailored to each individual dog. Hides can be placed at appropriate heights to avoid unnecessary stretching, jumping or pressure on arthritic joints.
Low impact doesn’t mean low benefit.
Scentwork allows dogs to work at their own pace, use their incredible noses, problem solve, build confidence and have fun without placing demands on aging bodies.
Because growing older shouldn’t mean sitting on the sidelines.
To make things easier for both dogs and owners, Senior Sniffers runs once a month as a gentle-paced two-hour session, removing the pressure of attending weekly classes while still providing regular mental enrichment and something special to look forward to.
Suitable for senior dogs of all breeds and abilities, whether they’re still full of beans or prefer life at a steadier pace.
