Controversial? Sure. Effective? Always. The E-collar isn’t about punishment, it’s about giving dogs freedom, safety, and a life time off-lead. It builds trust and creates a better relationship between dog and owner. Results will always matter more than opinions.

This boy has started his puppy foundation sessions. Kangals are a guardian breed originally bred to protect livestock, which means it’s very natural for them to show reactivity towards people and other animals. It’s instinct, not “naughtiness.”

Because of this, it’s crucial to put in the right structure, social exposure, and boundaries from the very start. At this stage we’re focusing on:
✅ Building engagement with his handler
✅ Creating neutrality around people & dogs
✅ Confidence in new environments

Guardian breeds can be amazing, loyal companions, but only when their instincts are understood and channelled properly from puppyhood.

Lesson with handsome boy Zeus 5 month old Rottie x American Bulldog.

We worked on building handler engagement and started conditioning him to the Grot collar. Also introduced some neutrality work around another dog, as he tends to get overly excited, loses focus when another dog is nearby, lunging and barking to get to it.

AURORA x BULLET 🌶️

Exited to announce Aurora’s first breeding with Bullet—this has been a long time in the making! We’re expecting some fiery, pups from this pairing and can’t wait! These two complement each other beautifully, both with excellent structure and size.

Aurora -

Possesses strong prey aggression and a solid civil defense drive, with rapid, powerful entries. She is highly athletic and agile, demonstrating deep, committed aggression when engaged. She transitions seamlessly between prey and defense drive, showing excellent control and adaptability. Outside of drive, she is social, confident, and fantastic with children. She is also highly motivated by both food and ball.

Bullet -

Has strong prey drive, solid drefense and rapid entries. He is highly athletic, agile and shows real aggression. He remains clear-headed and observant, with strong social confidence outside of drive. Bullet has a well-balanced civil side and can transition smoothly between prey and defense when needed.

Can you guess what Mix big boy Seb is ?

Seb attended a 1-2-1 training session to work on his reactivity to dogs. He tends to get overexcited when he sees them whilst he’s on lead, going into stalk mode upon sight. As he gets closer, it’s turns into frustration, he then lunges, which can be challenging to manage due to his size.

During our session Seb was introduced to the Grot collar, helping him understand lead pressure. This will aid in improving his loose leash walking, responsiveness and control on walks. We also focused on building his impulse control, engagement, and calm behavior around other dogs.

Apollo a 2 year old Cane Corso in for 1-2-1 training.

We’ve had a couple of sessions with Apollo to work on his loose leash walking, co-existing around dogs and recall.

We have been conditioning Apollo to the Ecollar to ensure he can have safe off leash freedom, he’s also been to a few of our group classes to help continue improving his obedience and co-existing around dogs.

Ralph 3 year old Weimaraner completed his tailored residential program.

Initial Challenges

• Nervousness: Ralph was initially very anxious, unwilling to take food rewards or engage in any play, making bonding difficult.

• Avoidance Behavior: He would try to run away even while on the lead, showed little interest in working with me and rejected any kind of affection.

• Pulling on the Lead: Ralph’s size made his pulling problematic, making walks a struggle for his owners.

• Unreliable Recall: His recall was inconsistent and on his own terms, rather than under command.

Progress Made:

1. Building Trust: By establishing a positive relationship with Ralph, he became more comfortable and willing to engage with me.

2. Basic Obedience: Once the bond was solid, I introduced foundational obedience training to set clear expectations. With Ralph now taking food, it became an effective tool for reinforcing positive behaviors.

3. Lead Training: Focused on teaching Ralph the understanding of lead pressure to walk calmly on a loose lead, making walks more manageable and enjoyable for his owners.

4. Improved Recall: Strengthened his response to recall commands, ensuring it’s no longer “on his terms” but a reliable behavior.

Ralph’s progress highlights the importance of patience, trust-building, and tailored training approaches in helping dogs overcome behavioral challenges.
