Unfortunately it seems that I may have to implement either a non refundable deposit or full payment at the time of booking for future bookings. I will also be changing my T&C's, so if you are a new or current client I will be sending them to you via email over this weekend (24/25 Oct 2026). As always, PLEASE READ them and sign them and send them back to me so I can add it to your file.

The changes will be that;

1) Either there will be a non refundable deposit or you will have to give full payment upon booking,

2) If you need to change or cancel your booking I will need a minimum of 7 days notice not the original 48 hours, as this gives me a chance to offer my room to someone else. If you give me less than 7 days notice then you will not receive the deposit or payment back.

****As a reminder of my current T&C's that if you don't pay the invoice within 7 days of it being received by you (it's sent via email) then I will go to the Small Claims Court.

I appreciate every single one of my clients, and I love ALL my guests, and I am so grateful that you all trust me with your darling rats; but I will not be treated with disrespect when you fail to pay your bill.

No rats this week but I am looking after someone's piggies 🥰🥰🥰 I love piggies and their squeaks and pips. There about 30 of them including 3 babies 🥰🥰 I visit them in their shed and feed them, check them all as best as I can, and if I can, have a snuggle with a baby 🥰

No guests staying at the moment, so here is our second Mr Gus on holiday with Rattilodgey Pet Sitting and Boarding when we were away last week. I feel very lucky that we can take our rats with us down to Somerset so they get a nice holiday too. Unfortunately Mr Gus the second, had the start of an ear infection and Liv caught it and whisked him to her vet right away. Liv looks after her guests with the same care and attention she gives her own boys, we are so very lucky to know such an awesome human 🥰🥰🥰

11 years ago today the boyfriend and I got our first rats together. He already had rats and when his mischief got down to 2 we decided to start a rolling group. Did we do everything right at the beginning? Nope! But I was willing to learn from those who knew more than me, so I joined lots of rat groups, read books and articles so I could be a good rat mum. We changed their diet as they had been on the dreaded nuggets, gave them more hammocks and boxes and things to hide in and chew. We started taking just rescues from 2016 as I couldn't bear the thought of such a small, delightful creature being denied love and a good home (and I'd started to learn about byb and pet shops 😬), and even though I now have NFRS rats I will never turn a rescue away if I can squeeze them in with our gang.
I'm still learning 11 years on as there are always new developments within the rat world, but this is where my love affair with rats started; Misty and Okie our first rats together.

Pea fishing this evening and the boys thoroughly enjoyed the peas, though one of the boys wasn't keen on getting his paws wet so needed assistance from The Rat Nanny 😁

We have 2 beautiful rescue boys staying. They're a little wary but have decided that exploring the Rat Room is actually quite good fun! Especially when the water fountain comes out 🥰
