This is without a doubt one of the hardest posts I’ve ever had to write.
After four incredible years, I’ve made the heartbreaking decision to close Walk With Me.
This hasn’t been a decision I’ve made lightly. I’ve spent months going back and forth, hoping things would improve, but unfortunately they haven’t. Dog walking has always been the main part of my income, and with hotter summers, harsher winters and more frequent extreme weather, I’ve found myself having to cancel or shorten walks far more often than ever before. While protecting the dogs has always come first, it has also meant taking a huge financial hit.
On top of that, the ever-increasing costs of running the business have become harder and harder to absorb. Fuel, insurance, vehicle maintenance and repairs are all essential when your car is your livelihood, and those costs have continued to rise. Sadly, despite giving it everything I have, the business is no longer financially sustainable, and I’ve had to make the incredibly difficult decision to walk away.
To every single person who trusted me with your dogs, cats and other much-loved pets… thank you. Thank you for opening your homes to me, for trusting me with members of your family, and for supporting my little business over the years. I have been there for wagging tails, nervous first walks, puppy training, senior dogs slowing down, holiday visits, muddy adventures and countless cuddles. Those memories will stay with me forever.
Thank you to everyone who has liked, shared and commented on my posts, recommended me to friends and family, or simply cheered me on from the sidelines. Every booking, every recommendation and every kind word has meant more than you’ll ever know. Walk With Me has never just been a job to me – it has been my passion, my livelihood and a huge part of who I am. You haven’t just supported a business; you’ve supported me as a person, and I will never forget that.
I’m heartbroken that this chapter is ending, but I’m also incredibly proud of what we’ve built together. What started as a dream became a business filled with love, trust and so many wonderful memories, all because of you.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for allowing me to be part of your pets’ lives, I genuinely love them with all of my heart.
It has been an absolute privilege, and I will miss every wagging tail, every muddy paw print, every happy greeting and every familiar face.
I just wanted to say that I have personally messaged everyone. If you’ve replied and I haven’t responded yet, please know I’m not ignoring you. Right now, I’m completely heartbroken and overwhelmed by it all. Reading your lovely messages has brought so many emotions, and I’m finding it incredibly difficult to reply without becoming upset. I promise I’ll get back to everyone when I can. Thank you all so much for your kindness, understanding and support—it truly means the world to me. ❤️🐾
