💙 A Celebration of Stan's Life 💙

On Monday 3rd August, our family will be coming together to celebrate the life of a truly wonderful man – our Dad, Stan.

Many of you knew Stan as the friendly face around In The Dog House. He wasn't just my dad; he was one of the people who made this business possible. Long before we opened our doors, he spent countless evenings helping me clean, paint, decorate and prepare the hotel. He worked as our night watchman, looked after our dogs overnight, welcomed customers with a smile, and had a way of making everyone feel like a friend.

What many people don't know is how incredibly proud Dad was of what we built together. I left school with no qualifications and became a mum to my first two children as a teenager. Despite every challenge, he never stopped believing in me. Right up until his final days, even with dementia, he would tell anyone who would listen how proud he was of the business and what had been achieved.

One saying of his has stayed with me throughout my life:

"Fortune favours the brave."

He said it often, and he was still saying it during his dementia. Those words gave me courage when I needed it most, and they continue to guide me today.

On Monday, Our wonderful Lizzie will be in the office from 9:30am and our amazing team will be caring for all of our wonderful doggo's as usual. As our family will be attending Dad's funeral, we may not be quite as responsive as normal, and we really appreciate your patience and understanding.
