A little Happy Tails update 🐕

As our business has grown, we’ve chosen to specialise in home boarding for sighthounds — a calm, family-style service designed around their unique needs. This focus allows us to offer an even better, more tailored service, particularly for rescue dogs who feel most settled in a home environment rather than kennels.

We’d like to reassure our lovely clients that we’ll continue to board all of our existing Happy Tails dogs. This update applies to new enquiries only.

You may also notice a refreshed logo that reflects this focus, but the care, routine, and family home environment you know and trust won’t be changing.

As we head into the New Year, thank you so much for your continued support — we’re excited for this next chapter 🐾

This is such a sad and sudden loss to the dog training world. She touched the lives of so many people and made a lasting difference to countless dogs. Her influence and legacy will be felt for many years to come. Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with her family and friends.

Why Happy Tails?

The idea of Happy Tails was born during a camping holiday on The Gower Peninsula in Wales.

Sarah and Canny have been friends since 2011 and both share a love of animals. Their own dogs enjoyed the comforts of being home boarded during that holiday. They have personally experienced the challenges of leaving a dog and going away without them, and have also experienced the challenge of finding the right people to care for them, hence the idea of Happy Tails Home Boarding!

Canny has cared for dogs for over 30 years and has a particular passion for sighthounds. Previously having volunteered for 10 years with Forever Hounds Trust, formally Greyhound Rescue West of England, Canny has helped to rescue, rehabilitate and find forever homes for many greyhounds and lurchers across the South West. Currently Canny enjoys the company of Albert the Whippet her running companion and hot water bottle (!) and Minnie a retired ex racing greyhound from Ireland who now enjoying her twilight year can often be found stretched out and snoozing the length of the sofa!

Sarah has always loved dogs and rehomed Leo, a young lurcher, from a local dog rescue in January 2017. Sarah has worked within Sales, Management and Training and more recently has enjoy a role supporting small business.
