A seasonal reminder ~ winter walkies ~ chilblain’s ~ salted pavements & roads ❄️ ❄️ ❄️

Shout out to all dog owners and dog walkers.
If you are planning to stick to your usual routine of exercising your dogs in this weather then it's very important that you are made aware of the risk of chilblains.

Walking in this weather can be dangerous for their pads and skin, the frost and ice work like needles that sting & could burn the skin off your dogs pads. If you want to imagine what this feels like then join your doggy by walking barefoot along side him 👀🦶❄️🦶🐾❄️

If your doggy just loves frosty walks please ensure that you don’t stay out too long, and give their feet legs and undercarriage a good wash and wipe down when you return as the salt and grit can also be extremely harmful, it can irritate their skin and in extreme cases can cause toxic poisoning if your dog is allowed to lick itself clean……..

Please remember, no dog will die if walkies are cut short or put on hold during this cold snap 💙🐾
