Talland RDA Talland Riding for the Disabled was set up in 1965 by Pammy Hutton's mother, Molly Sivewright UK Charity Commission Number 1073608.

Talland Riding for the Disabled (RDA) is one of nearly five hundred independent local charities across the UK who are affiliated to the National Charity, Riding for the Disabled. Our aim is to teach children and adults with physical and/or learning disabilities to ride as independently as possible. All our riders benefit from improved balance, coordination, muscle strength and physical and mental

wellbeing while having fun with horses in the fresh air. We are grateful to the Talland School of Equitation near Ampney Crucis, who host our group, and from whom we hire our horses and ponies. Talland was one of the first riding schools in the country to be involved with the setting up of the National charity RDA in 1969 and it is wonderful that they continue to support the important work we do. However we are responsible for our own fundraising and operating costs.

Due to increasing demand, we are looking for a new horse to join Talland RDA Group.

We are looking for a horse that meets the following criteria:

-16.2hh minimum weight carrier
- Sensible temperament and sound
- Does not need to be a world be**er.
- Can be a little bit green if temperament is impeccable

Modest budget available. Would consider long-term loan. Any horse considered would be subject to a 2 stage vetting.

Congratulations Lucinda Mitchell, our Independant Rider representing Talland Group RDA.
They are RDA National champions - dressage grade 6 open canter class on 75%. They rock!

a busy month ahead for them both with the National Side Saddle Show in 2 weeks, then the Para Festival of Dressage 2 weeks after that!! Busy busy!

Our Quiet Corners program offers a peaceful, low-pressure space for individuals to connect with horses through touch, speech, and breathing techniques.

Mandy has ME and Hypermobility Syndrome, and has been attending Quiet Corner sessions at Muirfield RDA since last year. She shared, “It’s an activity you can take at your own pace.” Mandy has developed a special bond with RDA pony Quincy during these sessions, which has brought comfort and calm.

We are looking for new volunteers!

Talland Group RDA is one of the longest running RDA groups in the UK ( 59 years this year!) we are an entirely volunteer-run group based at The Talland School of Equitation.

Our RDA group runs only on a Tuesday afternoon, under the coaching supervision of Emma Belcher and Brittany Lankston.
You would be with us from 13.00 - 15.30 each week.

We are currently at maximum capacity for riders, but have further demand that we cant accommodate without extra help.
Volunteers can be aged 14 and above. This is an excellent opportunity for those already interested in or involved with horses but no is experience as all training is provided, you just need to bring yourself and a smile!

You would be involved with the handling of ponies, leading horses/ ponies and riders, there may be some preparing the horses and ponies for the sessions, again if you aren't sure, all training is given, and you will have the RDA coach there to check everything for you.
Our RDA volunteers are essential to enable us to provide Horse riding as therapy for the adults and children that come to us.

We are looking for new volunteers who are able to commit to volunteering consistently weekly/ fortnightly, and let us know in good time if they become unavailable.

Volunteers aged 16+ are required to complete a DBS check (there is small fee required for processing).

Come and be part of the Talland RDA we are an entirely volunteer-run group based at The Talland School of Equitation.

Talland RDA is one of the longest running groups in the UK, and we are hoping to find some more volunteers to enable us to expand the current provision due to the demand we have.

Our RDA group runs only on a Tuesday afternoon.
You would be with us from 13.00 - 15.30 each week
We are currently at maximum capacity for riders, but have further demand that we cant accommodate without extra help.

Volunteers can be aged 14 and above. This is an excellent opportunity for those already interested in or involved with horses but no is experience as all training is provided, you just need to bring yourself and a smile!
