Merry Christmas!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

I am pleased to announce that The Native Pony Trust now has full charitable status. Our Charity number is 1209765.

Our mission is to preserve and promote all native equine breeds across Britain and beyond. Working together using shared experiences, research and resources from all native breeds we aim to:

• Improve the welfare of native ponies.

• Increase genetic diversity to ensure the health and longevity of native breeds.

• Promote the conservation of sustainable equine habitats.

• Record and nurture their rich cultural heritage and tradition.

• Provide an educational resource.

There are many charities across the country working towards similar objectives for a single breed - by working together we can make a greater impact, provide more extensive resources and be heard.

…and then there were four. With Ruby enjoying her extended holiday in Catsfield and Ruby2 off for further training in Cowbeech, I’m down to just four ponies at home. Not for long though as now my wonderful refurbished field shelter is almost finished I’m actively searching for a couple more registered Shetland mares to make up my numbers.

Several people have asked for a video of Harry after yesterday's post. This was my attempt at a video today. Maybe at the weekend we can get him in the school which might be better.

The gorgeous Honeywick Harrier (aka Harry) is growing up fast. Born 17th March so just over a month old and already very happy being headcollared and handled gently. He neighs or whickers when we go into the field and loves a good daily scratch from us. Sadly I only keep fillies so Harry will be looking for a very special new 🏡 at weaning.
