🌟HUGE NEWS ANNOUNCEMENT🌟

The Ice Queens are delighted to announce we will be attending the Defender Burghley 5* horse trials and will be assisting the cooling team 💦🧊as the competitors 🏇 cross the finish line on Saturday 6th September. We very much look forward to working with the Defender Burghley team and can't wait for the competition to start.

A couple of quick questions 🙋‍♀️

How important is equine welfare to you?

How do you think heat, hot 🥵 and cold 🥶 temperatures affect your horse 🐴 and how much notice you you take with regards to the weather ☀️🌦️🌨️⚡️💨❄️

Even though we may be coming towards the latter end of summer, it doesn’t mean we are not going to experience extreme weather spikes in temperature, hot days, cool or cold nights or long spells of wet weather.

We are all familiar with the challenges that the British weather brings, but these days the conditions seem much more unpredictable 🤷‍♀️

It’s tough to know what’s best to do in this ever changing climate for our equines but fear not, The Ice Queens are on hand to give you guidance and advice on all things equine heat and cooling related 🙌🐴🧊👑

The Ice Queens are world renown for their heat mitigation and thermoregulation expertise having worked with leading experts and teams from across the globe. This time two years ago The Ice Queens were out in France 🇫🇷 at the FEI European Eventing Championships where we ran the cooling zone at the end of cross country 💦🧊🏇🐴

Every cooling zone area is different, with its own natural environment and challenges. This cooling zone had plenty of natural shade provided by tall trees 🌲 and fairly well draining under foot.

This time last year was filled with Olympic medals 🥇🥈🥉out at the Palace of Versailles for the final show jumping phase of the team and individual Eventing, where Team GB won Gold 🥇and individual 🥉

A truly amazing atmosphere and experience, and TeamGB proving once again how world class we are at this sport 🙌🏇🐎

🚛PLANNING ON TRAVELLING HORSES TOMORROW? A QUICK REMINDER OF THE CURRENT GOVERNMENT GUIDANCE!🚛

Many parts of the UK will see temperatures over 30°C tomorrow (Friday 11th July 2025). Currently its 33°C in my garden in Cambridge (6:30pm Thursday 10th July).

Current UK Government Guidance
🇬🇧Transporting animals in extreme hot weather🇬🇧
🐎You are responsible for the welfare of animals you transport.
🐎If you do not have a temperature controlled vehicle, you should:
not transport animals in temperatures over 30°C
🐎Check the ‘feels like’ temperature for the intended route if humidity is high
