Practice makes progress 💙
Over her last 4 lessons rider Zofia has been putting all her learnings to date into practice. The aim was to improve Joeys overall way of going. Despite being the yard favourite and a complete gentleman in all ways, Joey is not of the most “ideal” build when it comes to horse confirmation. This is turn causes him some minor mechanical weaknesses when it comes to the way he carries himself and his overall way of going. However, we set out with a clear aim that it was absolutely possible to still improve his self carriage and encourage him to use himself in a way that overtime will actually benefit these slight weaknesses that can sometimes challenge him. Today Joey showed Zofia that hard work does in fact make progress. With the focus of all 4 sessions working through the SCALES OF TRAINING Joey now has the strength needed to be able to carry more of his weight through his hind end which in turn lightens the front end and allows the horse to relax through his back and perform what we know as self carriage. Well done both horse and rider 👏🏻
Joey may just be a dressage diva in the making yet 😉
