Ok this is a status update I was hoping I wouldn't need to write so please read.....

With regards to my hand, it is still sore and stiff but it continues to improve, the hospital have said another 3 to 6 months recovery then hopefully all will be well.

HOWEVER, I started to feel very unwell late last week and I spent Friday and Saturday in the hospital seeing doctors and having tests. I have developed a huge blood clot in my femoral artery. The short story is, I cannot work for between 3 and 6 months whilst I recover 😢

In view of the above, rather than completely close my business, I have decided to suspend things for the next 6 months. All bookings for the rest of the year will need to be cancelled and I cannot take on any new clients. Once January 2023 comes around, I will hopefully begin trading again. I am so sorry to let people down, and I thank you all for your business so far. I am grateful for the support I've received and I really hope I can work with you all again once this year is over.

Apologies for not updating for a while, there really hasn't been much to update. I have been attending the hand therapy department at Lister Hospital approximately every two weeks since the wire was removed from my hand. The therapy has been intensive and very uncomfortable. I have an appointment on Wednesday at Lister with my surgeon so hopefully I'll have a better idea of the long term recovery process from this nasty injury. Thank you for all your support whilst I've been out of action ❤️

Just a quick update. I am still attending specialist hand therapy appointments every two weeks, I am wearing the splint when I go out to avoid knocking my hand. I am still in some discomfort and there is swelling and internal bruising and obviously, it is weak, so I am being careful not to overdo things. The therapists assure me that all this is normal for an injury as serious as this one was. I see the surgeons at the end of June and will be able to give a more accurate timeframe then hopefully ❤️

I've just spent a couple of days with my little cat friend, Bert. All was well until he brought me a massive wood pigeon 😲 I panicked slightly at how on earth I was going to pick it up with one hand - luckily it flew off lol Thanks Bert, he obviously thinks that I'm a terrible cat and I need looking after 🤣

UPDATE. The wire is out of my hand 👍 so that's the good news. The bad news is that because the injury was so severe, I am not going to be healed for a few weeks yet. In view of this I am going to have to cancel all dog related bookings for both May and June. Any cat care can go ahead as planned. I am so sorry to let you all down, you've all been so understanding ❤️

An update for you all. My hand is in a new lighter cast now, the wire should come out in about two weeks. Until that happens, I can't really update anymore. Once I've seen the hand specialists at Lister then I'll know more ❤️ I have good movement in my fingers and the pain isn't too bad so that's a bonus lol

UPDATE. I am going in to hospital on friday to have my hand operated on, I don't know much more yet other than it will probably be wired. They may decide to plate it instead but they won't decide until the day. Unfortunately, after taking new xrays yesterday, the fracture is not stable. So once I've had the surgery, I'll update you all more ❤

Lovely clients ❤ I have hit a small snag. On monday I had an accident and broke my hand 🙈 In my usual style, it is not a straight forward break and requires surgery. I am seeing the consultant on Tuesday so that he/she can decide how best to proceed. I will post an update then once I know more. Luckily it won't affect housesitting, or pet sitting at all the only issue I will have will be with dog walking for a while. I'll keep you updated thank you for your understanding 😘
