Looking after your horse or pony’s body is just as important as their training 🐴

Regular massage can play a key role in keeping your horse comfortable, supple, and performing at their best. It helps to:
• Release muscle tension
• Improve circulation
• Support flexibility and movement
• Aid recovery after work or injury
• Highlight any areas of concern early

The best place to start is with an initial assessment and full body massage, which allows a thorough check of your horse’s muscle condition and any problem areas. This session can take up to 2 hours and costs £65.

From there, maintenance sessions help keep everything on track. These can be as frequent as once a month, depending on your horse’s workload and needs, with follow-up sessions starting from £40.

Think of it as part of your horse’s regular care routine—helping them feel and move their best every day 💛

Right… here goes nothing 😅

I’ve decided to throw myself into a May challenge to try and boost this page’s popularity. Honestly? It feels like a bit of a last-ditch attempt to build our online presence… and it is way out of my comfort zone 🙈

I’m fully aware that nobody is sitting there thinking, “you know what my feed needs? more of this face popping up every day” 😂 but here we are anyway!

So here’s the deal:
If it’s not your thing, just scroll on past — no hard feelings at all 👍
But if you do watch, enjoy, or even just mildly tolerate it… maybe give it a like or drop a comment so I know I’m not talking to myself 🤣

I’ll do my best to keep it interesting, useful, or at the very least slightly entertaining… we’ll see how it goes!!

Wish me luck… I might need it 😅

✨ Exciting New Chapter ✨

I’m thrilled to be officially launching and growing my equine massage therapy practice.

Qualified in 2023, I’ve since been continuing my studies and hands-on practice, building on a lifelong passion for horse welfare, performance, and wellbeing.

I bring with me over 30 years of experience in the equestrian industry, including competing in BE and BD, alongside a Diploma in Equine Psychology, coaching riders, and holding my BHS Level 3 Complete Horsemanship certification. More recently, I also qualified as an Equimotional Coach, deepening my understanding of the horse–human connection.

Alongside this, I run a successful part livery yard and deliver horse care sessions and workshops for both adults and children, which continues to keep me closely connected to horses and their everyday needs.

This year, my focus is on bringing all of these skills together to support horses in a more holistic way … combining physical therapy, emotional understanding, and practical horsemanship to help each horse feel and perform at their best.

If you’re looking for support for your horse’s comfort, recovery, or performance, I’d love to hear from you.

Thank you for following along on this journey … I can’t wait to see where it leads. 🐴✨

The hidden damage of badly fitting rugs ❌

Most of us are now clipping for the winter and many horses spend longer hours rugged, but an ill fitting rug can quietly cause significant tissue damage. This is something I tend to preach every year!

Basically tight or uneven rugs create constant pressure over the withers, shoulders, and hips. Over time, this can lead to bruising, fascial restriction, and reduced circulation, causing soreness and really poor tissue health.

If a rug is tight across the chest or shoulders, it can limit scapular movement and shorten stride length. Rugs that slip or twist may cause horses to alter their posture to stay balanced, leading to tension and asymmetry.

🙏 Check & Prevent. Look for rub marks, warmth, or uneven hair growth when removing your rugs. Watch how your horse moves, restricted shoulder action is definitely an early warning sign. A well fitting rug supports free movement, healthy fascia, and muscle balance and makes for a happy free moving horse!

🐎 Have a great winter but keep checking

🌿 Equine Massage: It’s Not Just for the Horse… It’s for You Too 🐴💆‍♀️

Did you know that giving your horse a massage can be just as good for your mental health as it is for theirs?

Spending quiet, intentional time with your horse—tuning into their body, noticing their reactions, and helping them relax—has a powerful grounding effect. It slows your breathing, calms your thoughts, and creates a deep sense of connection and presence. ✨

When we give our horses the gift of touch and care, we’re also giving ourselves a moment of peace. The gentle rhythm, the focus on feeling rather than thinking, and the mutual trust being built all help reduce stress and anxiety in us as well.

So next time you’re brushing off the day, consider adding a few massage techniques into your routine. You might be surprised by how good it feels—for both of you. 💖
