☀️🐾 ANOTHER HEAT WAVE IS ON THE WAY! 🐾☀️

With temperatures set to climb again this week, Cynefin Pet Care’s hot weather policies will be in place to keep all our four-legged friends safe and comfortable. ❤️

🐶 When temperatures rise, our priorities change:
🌡️ No dog walks or grooms when temperatures reach 26°C or above ( breed, age and health conditions alter this and we may not walk over 20°C)
💦 Plenty of fresh water and opportunities to cool down
🌳 Shady, cooler areas for outdoor time
🧠 Indoor enrichment and mental stimulation instead of walks
🐾 Walks will be scheduled during the cooler parts of the day whenever conditions and time allows.

Remember, dogs don’t always know when they’ve had enough and heatstroke can happen very quickly, especially in older dogs, puppies, overweight dogs and flat-faced breeds.

I know some dogs absolutely love their walks, but missing a walk is far safer than risking their health. ❤️

Meet the gorgeous Monty 🐾🐱

Monty is a beautiful Maine C**n, and I’ve been visiting him and his two lovely dog siblings every week for almost a year now. ❤️

The bond we’ve built over that time is so special. Every visit, Monty is waiting to greet me, and these days I don’t just get a hello… I get full-on climbing cuddles! 🥹 He can’t wait to get his paws around me, and it’s honestly one of the highlights of my day.

Building relationships like this with the animals I care for is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do. Watching their trust grow and knowing they feel happy, safe, and excited to see me is something I’ll never take for granted.

Thank you, Monty, for making every visit just that little bit more special. ❤️

It’s been a little quiet on here over the last few months… but only because I’ve been incredibly busy! 🐾❤️

Between house visits, dog walks, home boarding and grooming, my days have been packed from start to finish. The recent warm weather has made for some very long days too, with early morning starts to beat the heat and evening walks when it’s much cooler and safer for the dogs.

I wouldn’t have it any other way though. Seeing all of your wonderful pets happy, relaxed and having fun makes every early alarm worth it. 🥰

There is nothing more rewarding than receiving feedback like this from one of my wonderful clients.

Willow recently came to stay with me for boarding and also enjoyed a pamper in the grooming pod before heading home. Every dog in my care is treated like one of my own, whether they’re staying for daycare, boarding, or visiting for a groom. I always take the time to understand their individual needs and make sure they feel safe, relaxed, and loved.

Knowing that Willow went home looking beautiful, feeling comfortable, and was so content that she spent the next day relaxing in the shade while her owner got on with a creative project is exactly why I do what I do. 🥰

The heat over the last few weeks has made it very difficult for us to continue our usual grooming and walking schedule safely. While I personally love the sunshine, it certainly takes its toll on our furry friends and their wellbeing always comes first ☀️🐾
Yesterday we took a trip to the woods for a lovely shaded walk, and the pups were very happy 😊 It was wonderful to see them enjoying their time sniffing, exploring and playing in a much cooler environment.
During periods of hot weather we’ll continue to adapt our services to keep all dogs safe, comfortable and happy. Thank you all for your patience and understanding while we navigate these warmer temperatures together ❤️

After a very hot week, things are finally returning to normal, and all of our walking and grooming services are back on schedule. ☀️➡️🐶

If I haven’t been in touch with you yet to confirm a new booking—especially for grooming—please do send me a message. I certainly don’t want anyone to be missed!

Just a reminder that more hot weather is forecast towards the end of this week and into next week, so our Hot Weather Policy will remain in place. The safety and wellbeing of your furry family members will always come first, which means walks and grooming appointments may need to be adjusted or rescheduled if temperatures become too high.
